Book Description
CE TRAVAIL PRESENTE UNE CONTRIBUTION A LA MODELISATION DES PROCESSUS INITIAUX DE L'ALTERATION NATURELLE DES MINERAUX SILICATES. LES VITESSES DE DISSOLUTION D'UNE AUGITE, PYROXENE CA-FE-MG, ONT ETE MESUREES EXPERIMENTALEMENT, DANS UN REACTEUR A CIRCULATION, EN FONCTION DU TEMPS, DU PH ET DE LA TEMPERATURE. A LA FIN DE CHAQUE EXPERIENCE D'UNE DUREE MOYENNE DE 500 H, LES SURFACES DES MINERAUX ALTERES ONT ETE OBSERVEES AU MICROSCOPE ELECTRONIQUE A BALAYAGE ET ANALYSEES PAR ESCA. LES RESULTATS OBTENUS A PARTIR DE L'ANALYSE DES SOLUTIONS ONT PERMIS D'ETABLIR UNE LOI CINETIQUE DECRIVANT DU PH SUR LE TAUX DE DISSOLUTION DU MINERAL. LES VITESSES MESUREES A L'ETAT STATIONNAIRE ET LOIN DE L'EQUILIBRE, DIMINUENT AVEC LE PH DANS L'INTERVALLE PH 2 A 5,7. L'ORDRE DE LA REACTION EST DE 0,19. LES VITESSES SONT INDEPENDANTES DU PH ENTRE 5,7 ET 10. CES DONNEES CINETIQUES SONT INTERPRETABLES DANS LE CADRE DE LA THEORIE DE L'ETAT DE TRANSITION APPLICABLE LORSQUE LE MECANISME QUI CONTROLE LA DISSOLUTION DU MINERAL EST LA REACTION DE SURFACE. L'ETUDE DU SOLIDE MET EN EVIDENCE DES MORPHOLOGIES ANALOGUES A CELLES DES ALTERATIONS NATURELLES. L'ESCA REVELE LA FORMATION, EN MILIEU ACIDE, D'UNE COUCHE RESIDUELLE ENRICHIE RELATIVEMENT EN SILICIUM ET APPAUVRIE EN CATIONS OCTAEDRIQUES. ENTRE PH ET 10, CETTE COUCHE EST PLUS FAIBLEMENT APPAUVRIE EN CA ET MG ET ENRICHIE EN FE. EN MILIEU TR7S ALCALIN (PH 11,4 ET 12), MG ET CA S'ACCUMULENT EN SURFACE PAR RAPPORT A SI ET FE

The Chemistry of Weathering
Author: J.I. Drever
Publisher: Springer Science & Business Media
ISBN: 940095333X
Category : Science
Languages : en
Pages : 323
Book Description
Several important developments in our understanding of the chemistry of weathering have occurred in the last few years: 1. There has been a major breakthrough in our understanding of the mechanisms controlling the kinetics of sil icate dissolution, and there have been major advances in computer modeling of weathering processes. 2. There has been a growing recognition of the importance of organic solutes in the weathering process, and hence of the inter-relationships between mineral weathering and the terrestrial ecosystem. 3. The impact of acid deposition ("acid rain") has been widely recognized. The processes by which acid deposition is neutral ized are closely related to the processes of normal chemical weathering; an understanding of the chemistry of weathering is thus essential for predicting the effects of acid deposition. 4. More high-qual ity data have become available on the chemical dynamics of smal I watersheds and large river systems, which represent the integrated effects of chemical weathering.
