Focus groups and a telephone survey measured consumer awareness, comprehension, and use of apparel care labels, and reactions to the revised CGSB Textile Care symbols. 67% of respondents used care label information when purchasing apparel and 82% used the information when laundering. Reactions to the new CGSB symbols indicated a high level of non-comprehension.
