En 2017 se cumple el V Centenario de la Reforma, un camino iniciado el 31 de octubre de 1517 con la salida a la luz pública de las «95 tesis» de Lutero, comienzo de la Reforma luterana. Las décadas inmediatamente posteriores fueron, por múltiples causas, un tiempo de dolor, desencuentro y guerra, que sumió a Europa en una crisis que acabaría con una nueva escisión de la cristiandad. Este trabajo tiene por objeto estudiar la Declaración Conjunta sobre la Doctrina de la Justificación, de 1999. Dicho documento ecuménico buscaba, después de siglos de desencuentros, un punto de partida para que ambas comunidades pudieran reconocer un consenso diferenciado acerca de la doctrina de la Justificación por la Fe. Un consenso que permita el acercamiento con la otra comunidad eclesial y, a su vez, que las condenas doctrinales del pasado no se apliquen a los interlocutores actuales. La utilización de esta categoría, consenso diferenciado, no es un recurso hermenéutico artificial e inseguro sino que responde a la unidad de la iglesia que se busca. Una «unidad en diversidad reconciliada », modelo que articula dinámicamente las notas de unidad y catolicidad, afirmando la mutua solidaridad entre ambas. 2017 is the V Centennial of the Reformation, a pathway initiated on October 31, 1517, with Luther’s «95 theses», the beginning of the Lutheran reformation, first seeing the light. For many reasons, the next decades were a time of pain, misunderstanding, and war, which plunged Europe into a crisis that would end with a new split in the Christian world. This work aims to study the Joint Statement on the Doctrine of Justification of 1999. After centuries of misunderstandings, this ecumenical document sought a starting point so that both communities could recognize a differential consensus about the doctrine of Justification by Faith. A consensus that would allow approaching the other ecclesial community and, at the same time, would prevent the doctrinal condemnations of the past from being applied to the current interlocutors. The use of this category, differential consensus, is not an artificial and unsafe hermeneutic resource but instead one that responds to the sought unity of the church.
