Confessions of a Christian Woman

Confessions of a Christian Woman PDF Author: G Christine Hansen
Publisher: Independently Published
ISBN:

Languages : en
Pages : 148

Book Description
This book is not a prescription for spiritual success. I have only tried to describe what Jesus has done for me using Scripture to illuminate my journey. Through this, God's Word has become very meaningful and beautiful to me. I now understand that it is only His Word that can truly change us. My story is an attempt to share how He changed me through His Word. Telling my story is intended to give hope to those who feel having God work in their lives requires something they don't have. Chris Hansen was born in a small farming town in Central California and attended Cal Poly at San Luis Obispo. Except for a life changing interlude living in Venezuela, she has lived in the West all her life, finally settling in Arizona. Although attracted to travel and the exotic, her main desire and satisfaction in life has been to be a wife and mother. Here's what readers are saying about "Confessions of a Christian Woman" "The fortitude and inner thoughts you have expressed are so deeply put. If others can read the book and experience the same faith you have showed, it's a keeper." M. M. " Raw transparency that will be an encouragement to many who feel hopeless." J. D. " A great intimacy well written. Kudos! " L.Q. "Just finished reading chapter two. I love it!" J.S. "A towering achievement. I looked forward to reading each chapter." M.H. "I'm so enjoying, I see myself also as I read her story..." V. M. For a reduced price on orders of five or more 'Confessions' for friends or Bible studies please contact: [email protected]

Confessions of a Crappy Christian

Confessions of a Crappy Christian PDF Author: Blake Guichet
Publisher: Tyndale House Publishers
ISBN: 1496457064
Category : Religion
Languages : en
Pages : 219

Book Description
Why does it so often feel like Christians can’t talk about the real, hard stuff in life? We know our lives should reflect Jesus; what He did and said, and how He interacted with others. But if we’re being honest, there are days when we face tough, confusing things that can make us feel, well, very not like Jesus. As our culture moves further from truth and grace, Christians are burned-out, isolated, and unsure of where to turn for sound biblical advice that applies to their everyday struggles. If you’ve ever felt this way or wished someone would talk about things like forgiveness, mental health, broken friendships, redirected dreams, sex, facts versus feelings, church hurt, rest, weakness, healing, and more in honest, down-to-earth terms while sticking to what Scripture has to say about them, you’ve come to the right place. Confessions of a Crappy Christian is for you if you have ever thought you’re too messed up for church feel exhausted and alone in your struggles think you need to complete a checklist before God will love you need a friend who cares about you too much to let you stay stuck With honesty and vulnerability, Blake Guichet, host of the popular podcast Confessions of a Crappy Christian, helps us embrace the truth that we can’t do it all perfectly and gives us the wisdom, guidance, and hope to move from “crappy” Christian into a freer and fuller walk with Christ.

The Gospel According to Jerry

The Gospel According to Jerry PDF Author: Jerry G. A. Rodgers
Publisher: AuthorHouse
ISBN: 141846807X
Category : Biography & Autobiography

Book Description
The testimony of this book reaffirms the original New Testament witness, that the Christians separation from the world is so radical that in the eyes of the unbaptized worldling he is quite literally out of his mind (Acts 26:24). Pauls description of the Christian gospel as folly (1 Cor. 1:18) therefore is seen to be no mere literary device but a deep penetration to the root of the Christians alienation from the world. The basic proclamation of that gospel__that God was in Christ, who died for our sins, rose from the grave, ascended into heaven and will some day return to judge both the living and the dead__is at best hard to believe (Mark 16:9-14), and at worst has been placed in the same category of delusional psychology of which those with experience in caring for the mentally ill can give numerous examples (Albert Schweitzer, The Psychiatric Study of Jesus). My own experience of the gospel, having run this gamut from best to worst, has been for me a brilliant illumination of the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God (Rom. 11:33). I believe it cannot but result in enlightenment for others also, and therefore I publicly make this confession. ___from the authors Foreword

Confessions from the Smoking Bench

Category : Biography & Autobiography
Languages : en
Pages : 142

Book Description
Confessions from the Smoking Bench started as a casual conversation during a smoke break, which turned into journal entries between authors Jacob Erdman and Breanna Federico. They then decided to create a book to show the world that they are Christians with normal, everyday lives who struggle and make mistakes. They may get confused and angry from time to time, but they never forget their purpose or who is in charge. Writing this book made them dig deep and work hard to make every word and every thought count. They truly believe it will open eyes and touch hearts, which is exactly what they wanted to do.

Letting His Light Shine Through

Letting His Light Shine Through PDF Author: Kalin Mallernee
Publisher: Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.
ISBN: 1098063333
Category : Religion
Languages : en
Pages : 40

Book Description
Letting His Light Shine Through: Confessions of a Wicked Man is a story of hope and redemption, as well as a call to arms. This book could also in ways be described as an instruction manual of sorts for new/young Christians. As we navigate through our Christian walk, we are going to have seasons of vast spiritual growth, change, and inevitable sorrow, shame, or grief. How we handle the latter will inevitably cause either more spiritual growth or cause us to lose focus on the Lord given our circumstances. At times it may feel as if you are just spinning your tires, but I assure you God is with you. He is refining you in the fire that you may become purified and as precious as gold. Trials are a given when it comes to growing spiritually; Peter, James, and Paul spoke of this (1 Pet. 5:10 NIV, Jas. 1:12 NIV, and 1 Cor. 10:13 NIV). I feel called to bring to light the need for transparency in Christian leadership and just as importantly in our personal relationships. The reason for this is quite simple; making our struggles, sin, and temptations transparent to others is encouraging. We don't have it all together and that's okay! We are all sinners, and I firmly believe that as followers of Christ we are to act that way. I'm not advocating in the name of sin. I'm advocating in the name of the one who bore our sin. What I've come to learn over the years, and it took many, is that "God never wanted perfect; he just wanted my heart" (Cory Asbury). Whether we like it or not, the world we live in views us as hypocrites. They see us as hateful, spiteful, and bigoted. Not very surprising given that many of us are. I know that stings a little, but that's because it's so true. I think if we spent more time focusing on sharing the good things God has done, is doing, and will do we could change the world. We all have opportunities in our own lives, workplaces, and communities to share the love of Jesus. But here's the thing; I believe that if we are more transparent with our real feelings, own sin, and the transforming love of Jesus, only then will the world see Christianity the way that we see Christianity.
