Ce travail a pour objectif la conception et la modélisation d'un bioréacteur fluidisé à enzymes fixées. La réaction mise en oeuvre est l'hydrolyse de maltodextrines en glucose par la glucoamylase fixée sur rafles de maïs. Après une étude bibliographique des bioréacteurs fluidisés et de leur modélisation, nous avons présenté les caractéristiques du système enzymatique retenu pour cette étude. Puis nous avons déterminé les parmètres cinétiques de la glucoamylase fixée sur rafles de maïs de 200U. Cette étude est réalisée en réacteur différentiel à recyclage et conduit à l'obtention des parmètres intrunsèques de la réaction qui s'avère suivre une loi de Michaelis et Mente n simple dans le domaine de concentration en substrat balayé (1g/1 à 40g/1). Ensuite, nous avons étudié le comportement hydrodynamique du réacteur fluidisé. Le support utilisé, les rafles de maïs de 200 u, étant de petite taille et de densité proche de l'eau requiert des vitesses de fluidisation très faibles : de 0.4 à 0.8 mm/s. De ce fait, la dispersion axiale peut être importante. Nous l'avons étudiée par une technique de traçage. les coefficients de dispersion restent insuffisamment faibles pour que la dispersion axiale puisse être négligée. Enfin, nous présentons le modèle de calcul des performances d'un réacteur fluidisé à enzymes fixées prenant en compte la cinétique de la réaction biochimique et le transfert de matière au sein de la couche fluidisée. Une série d'expériences d'hydrolyse de maltodextrines en couche fluidisée permet de comparer les résultats ainsi obtenus à ceux que laissait prévoir le modèle.

Masters Theses in the Pure and Applied Sciences was first conceived, published, and dis· seminated by the Center for Information and Numerical Data Analysis and Synthesis (CINDAS) *at Purdue University in 1957, starting its coverage of theses with the academic year 1955. Beginning with Volume 13, the printing and dissemination phases of the ac· tivity were transferred to University Microfilms/Xerox of Ann Arbor, Michigan, with the thought that such an arrangement would be more beneficial to the academic and general scientific and technical community. After five years of this joint undertaking we had concluded that it was in the interest of all concerned if the printing and distribution of the volume were handled by an international publishing house to assure improved service and broader dissemination. Hence, starting with Volume 18, Masters Theses in the Pure and Applied Sciences has been disseminated on a worldwide basis by Plenum Publishing Corporation of New York, and in the same year the coverage was broadened to include Canadian universities. All back issues can also be ordered from Plenum. We have reported in Volume 20 (thesis year 1975) a total of 10,374 theses titles from 28 Canadian and 239 United States universities.
