"The Initial Housing Element provides Calhoun City and Derma with a comprehensive analysis of all componenets of the existing housing supply. The study identifies specific housing problems and recommends action programs that may be adopted to increase the supply of standard housing. Needed improvements are scheduled over a three year period. The Land Use Analysis examines existing land usage within the Calhoun City-Derma Planning Area. The report reveals both acreage and percentage of land in each major use category and points out areas where future development problems may be encountered because of such factors as flooding, topography, and soil conditions. The Land Development Plan proposes a dimension and arrangement of future land uses to complement and accommodate anticipated growth of the planning area. It sets forth goals, standards, and development proposals to guide future urban growth.
