Book Description
Fourteen theological scholars address key topics related to the age of the earth, which is the crucial issue of debate in the church today regarding origins. Bringing to bear rigorous biblical, theological, and historical arguments in favor of a six-day creation, the global Flood, and a young earth, they also provide much-needed critiques of a number of contemporary old-earth interpretations of the book of Genesis. This fresh defense of the literal history of Genesis 1-11 nicely complements other studies which focus more on the scientific evidence of young-earth creationism. As such, this book can serve as a versatile supplement to other works, but is also designed to be used as a standalone text for seminary and Bible college professors and students, pastors, missionaries, and others who want in-depth apologetic resources. Coming to Grips with Genesis: Biblical Authority and the Age of the Earthincludes: Forewords by Dr. John MacArthur, President of the Master's Seminary and Senior Pastor of Grace Community Church, Sun Valley, CA; and the late Dr. Henry Morris, Founder and President Emeritus, Institute for Creation Research Detailed analysis of the verbs of Genesis 1 A defense of the Genesis 5 & 11 genealogies as strict chronologies Reasons for rejecting millions of years of death and natural evil before Adam's sin Careful reflection on Jesus' teachings regarding a young earth

Grip of Heaven

Grip of Heaven PDF Author: H. Bruce Boulton
Publisher: Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.
ISBN: 1098006593
Category : Religion
Languages : en
Pages : 46

Book Description
The title Grip of Heaven came from a vision the Lord gave me following my precious Annie's homegoing in November 2016. She exhibited a real peace of mind in the few weeks prior to her passing that gave no evidence of her physical condition or circumstances. I discovered the source of that peace in the months following as I searched her personal belongings. I found a scribbled note on her coupon envelope in her pocketbook that read, "Stop holding on and be held by Jesus." Later I read in her journal, "I saw a roadside sign that said, 'Stop holding on and be held by the loving arms of Jesus.' So much of this applies to me." I observed her inner peace during her last days and especially during her nine-day stay in the hospital. My vision of the pierced hand of Jesus gripping Ann's hand came soon after this discovery. With it came encouragement to write this book and tell others of the walk she and I had walked over the last forty-five years following our Lord's leading in all aspects of our lives together.

Enough about Me

Enough about Me PDF Author: Jen Oshman
Publisher: Crossway
ISBN: 1433566028
Category : Religion
Languages : en
Pages : 98

Book Description
Women today feel a constant pressure to improve themselves and just never feel like they're "enough." All too often, they live their daily lives disheartened, disillusioned, and disappointed. That's because joy doesn't come from a new self-improvement strategy; it comes from rooting their identity in who God says they are and what he has done on their behalf. This book calls women to look away from themselves in order to find the abundant life God offers them—contrasting the cultural emphasis on personal improvement and empowerment with what the Scriptures say about a life rooted, built up, and established in the gospel.

Book Description
Based on the author’s real-life story of dying on a mountain, this enthralling book combines the thrills of a wilderness adventures with the awe inspiring elements of a paranormal novel. In March of 1980, college senior Peter Panagore went ice climbing on the world-famous Lower Weeping Wall, along the Ice Fields Parkway in Alberta, Canada. His climbing partner was an experienced ice climber, but Panagore was a novice. On their descent, they became trapped on the side of the mountain. As the sun set, he was overcome by exhaustion and hypothermia. He died on the side of that mountain in 1980. In his minutes on the other side, he experienced hell, forgiveness, and unconditional love. Heaven was beautiful. Panagore’s near death experience (NDE) changed his life and resulted in an intense spiritual journey that has continued for decades. It impelled him to pursue a master’s degree at Yale Divinity School focusing on systematic theology and Christian mysticism. His educational background coupled with 30 years of yogic and meditative practice and 20 years of professional work with the dying and grieving has given him unique insight, language, and perspective on heaven, God, death, life, love, beauty, and hope. “I have told my story to audiences large and small for a decade now. . . . My story touches people’s hearts; every time I tell it the audience is gripped and silent. . . . This book is about hope. It is meant to give real hope to the dying, hope to the fearful, hope to the hopeless, hope to the grieving.”
