Book Description
CHRIST IS ALIVE I have found that one can tell how a person values life by his estimation of death. I once talked with a man who had never given serious thought to death until it was discovered that he had cancer. "Immediately my entire world changed," he said. "The things I valued most became worthless, and the things that I thought were of little value are now the most important things in the world to me." GETTING READY FOR ETERNITY Physical life is a possession that we all cling to, and yet we know we must all sooner or later bow to death. It enters the home of the rich as boldly as it enters the apartment in the projects. It brings down the final curtain as swiftly on the famous as it does on the unknown. Before this year ends, many people reading this message will keep their appointment with death. There are many who say, "I believe in life after death, but I'm not concerned about crossing that bridge until I get to it." How strange that people should spend years preparing for retirement and not take so much as five minutes to prepare to meet God ANOTHER ATTITUDE TOWARD DEATH IS THIS: "I STAND WITH CHRIST, THE LORD OF LIFE AND DEATH, AND REST MY CASE IN HIS HANDS." David said, "Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me" (Psalm 23:4). The apostle Paul said, "For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain" (Philippians 1:21). Both men were looking ahead to death with calm assurance. They knew that this life is only a dressing room for eternity. Jesus said, "I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live" (John 11:25). Death need not be a bitter end--it can be a bright dawning. ASSURANCE IN LIFE-- AND IN DEATH Christ is alive And because he is alive, that makes all the difference in the world. In his resurrection, evil has been defeated, love has conquered hate, death has lost its sting, and Satan has been defeated. In his death on the cross, Christ declared that the full penalty for sin has been paid. And one day all of creation will burst forth into a new song. Christ is alive The early Christians proclaimed that truth. They believed that the same power that raised the Lord Jesus from the dead will work in and through us to rescue us from our doubts, our darkness, our failure, and even our death. As we look at the world today we cannot help but be disturbed by what is happening. But the resurrection of Christ tells us, as his followers, that we need not press the panic button. It is true that we are concerned and burdened, and it is certain that we are going to die, but we do not cry in terror as others do. The day before John Hus, a fifteenth-century martyr condemned for his faith in Christ, was to be burned at the stake, he wrote, "I write this in prison and in chains, expecting tomorrow to receive the sentence of death--full of hope in God that I shall not swerve from the truth." Is this hope, peace, and joy yours? Can you face death with a smile, with full confidence that you are going into the presence of Christ? You can have this hope if you are willing to turn from sin and trust Christ. "If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." ROMANS 10:9

Book Description
Easter is a happy time of year with chocolate bunnies, colored eggs, and jelly beans. It's when winter changes into spring with flowers blooming and the grass turning green. We can be very happy at Easter time. Do you know why? A long time ago, Jesus Christ died on a cross and was buried in a small cave. His friends closed the cave with a big stone and went away very sad. But they were in for a big surprise. Three days later, on the first Easter, Jesus's friends found the cave empty with the stone rolled away. They were afraid until an angel told them Jesus was not dead anymore. He was alive And that's why we can be so happy on Easter-- because Jesus Christ died and is now alive Jesus dying on the cross means we are forgiven of the bad things we do (sin). Jesus Christ was raised from the dead so that we can live with him forever in heaven. The Bible tells us, "Yes, God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son Jesus], so that everyone who believes in him would not be lost but have eternal life" (John 3:16). If you believe what Jesus did for you, then pray a prayer like this: Jesus, I'm sorry I do bad things. Please forgive me. I believe you died for me to take away my sins. I believe you came back to life so I can live with you forever in heaven. I now trust in you as my Savior. Amen Yes, I now trust in Jesus Christ as my Savior Send your decision to the Truth Chasers Club, a ministry of Child Evangelism Fellowship, and they will send you free information to help you grow in your new relationship with God.

Book Description
There is a common belief today that "all roads lead to God." While it is noble to respect each other's religious faith, the Bible teaches that the only way a person can be reconciled to God is on God's terms. Here are five "landmarks" that set Christianity apart from other roads. The Bible is the only inspired, infallible Word of God! Historians agree as to the authenticity of the New and Old Testament writings, and contrary to popular belief, transmission of the text was completed with 99.99% precision. Conclusive evidence for the infallibility of the Bible includes: the bibliographicaltest; historical and archaeological confirmations; the Bible's harmony and unity (considering it contains 66 books written over 1,500 years, by 40 authors on 3 continents); and the Bible's fulfilled predictive prophecies. There were 330 specific prophecies about the coming Messiah in the Old Testament--fulfilled with 100% accuracy in the life of Jesus centuries later! God spoke to the Old Testament prophets revealing history in advance because he is outside of time. The Bible itself declares, "All scripture is given by inspiration of God [by the Holy Spirit] . . . ." REFERENCE: 2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:19-21; Matthew 5:18, 24:35; Psalm 119:89. COMPARE: No other "written religious authority" in historyhas provided such purity of text, such historical/archaeological confirmations, and such extensive prophecy fulfilled anywhere near 100% accuracy! GOD HIMSELF IS THE FOUNDER OF CHRISTIANITY. The God of the Bible is the eternal, triune God (the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit). He is the creator and sustainer of all life, creating the human race to enjoy a relationship with himself. Jesus Christ is the Second Person of the Trinity--God the Son. Jesus humbly took the form of a man and came to earth as Savior to redeem us. Jesus predicted to his disciples that he would die and then rise from the dead three days later, an event which would validate his claims to be God! He did not try to escape death on the cross, but he submitted to it. REFERENCE: John 1:29, 2:19; Philippians 2:6-8; 1 John 4:2; Matthew 12:40, 26:52-54; Titus 2:13; Revelation 13:8. COMPARE: All other religions' "founders" were mere men, not God himself! "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him [ Jesus] should not perish but have eternal life" ( John 3:16)! God the Father gave up his Son for us. His gift of eternal life is free to us, but it cost him crucifixion. God loves every person with an unconditional, divine love! He created us to live in relationship with him, but the Bible says that sin and death entered the world through Adam, in the garden of Eden. Thus, all humanity is guilty of sin against God (Romans 3:23). The penalty of sin is spiritual death (Romans 6:23), but Jesus willingly died on the cross, in our place, to pardon us. If we were to ask God to prove his love for us, he would point to the CROSS! REFERENCE: Matthew 26:31,39; Hebrews 9:22, 13:20; Revelation 13:8; Isaiah 53:4-6. COMPARE: No other religions' "founders" loved people so perfectly, nor sacrificed so greatly to prove it! Other religions require human works for redemption. The good news of Christianity is that God has provided us with the way to himself. THE RESURRECTION OF JESUS CHRIST IS THE CENTRAL PILLAR OF CHRISTIANITY, and the evidence for its historicity is conclusive. We have the actual eyewitness accounts of this event in the Gospels of Matthew, John, etc.; the empty tomb, despite the presence of the Roman guards, the transformation of the apostles, and the post-resurrection appearances of Jesus. By his resurrection Jesus conquered sin and death, thereby offering new life, eternal life, to us! Jesus declared, "I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live" ( John 11:25). REFERENCE: John 11:25; Acts 1:3; Hebrews 12:2; Matthew 17:9; 1 Corinthians 15:1-8. COMPARE: No other religions' "founders" ever conquered death by resurrection (returning to life). JESUS CHRIST CLAIMS TO BE THE ONLY WAY TO ETERNAL SALVATION. In his own words Jesus declared: "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" ( John 14:6). Logically, if there really is a God, then we must come to him by his own prescribed way! That prescribed road, according to the God of the Bible, is by faith in Jesus Christ! Religions are based on various systems of works, whereas Christianity is based on Jesus and what he has already done for us! REFERENCE: John 14:6; Matthew 25:41; Acts 4:12; John 3:16; Romans 10:9; 1 Peter 3:18. COMPARE: Other religions and philosophies claim that all roads lead to God, but their contradictory beliefs cannot be reconciled. THEREFORE . . . It cannot be true that "all roads lead to God." The various teachings about God from different religions contradict each other in critical ways. God cannot at the sametime be both impersonal and personal, both singular and triune, both finite and infinite, both knowable and unknowable. There is no way to reconcile the various worldviews, such as pantheism, monotheism, and polytheism. Therefore, logically, either none of them--or only one--is true! The real issue is Truth, an issue of infinite importance. IN CONCLUSION: Jesus Christ voluntarily died on a Roman cross 2,000 years ago to pay the penalty for our sins and to demonstrate his love for us. He was "God himself who came in the flesh"--the promised Messiah. The gospel of grace is: Whoever believes in the biblical Jesus Christ--who lived, died, and then three days later resurrected--willhave eternal life in heaven! God longs to have a personal relationship with you through his Son, Jesus Christ, who says: "Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20). REFERENCE: Revelation 3:20; John 3:16; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; John 11:25 WHAT'S NEXT? - Read the Bible and Scriptures in the references above to learn more about God. - Believe that Jesus died for you on the cross, came back to life from the grave, and is your only way to heaven. - Pray: Dear Jesus, thank you for saving me from my sins. I believe that you are my Savior, and I now receive you into my life, so I can have forgiveness and life in eternity with you.

Book Description
I love Halloween. Every year I turn on my front porch light to superheroes, animals, princesses, and pirates all dressed in cool costumes. It's exciting to hear the shouts: "Trick or treat!" and even more fun to give out candy with this Halloween treat. The candy you get this year may be really sweet, but even sweeter than candy is knowing how much God loves you! God thinks you're great just the way you are with freckles or warts or braces or crazy hair, it doesn't matter. God thinks you're so special that he sent his Son, Jesus, to give you a wonderful gift. The Bible calls this amazing gift eternal life, or life that lasts forever. "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life" John 3:16. Don't let anyone trick you into thinking you have to be extra good so that God will love you and let you into heaven one day. None of us can be good enough to earn God's love. All of us do bad things (sin) like telling lies, think-ing bad thoughts, or hurting other people. Our bad behavior pushes us away from God and we deserve to be punished. "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" Romans 3:23. But Jesus took our place and was punished for us when he died on the cross and rose again. That's how much he loves you. The Bible says: "But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses (sins), made us alive together with Christ..." Ephesians 2:4,5. You know the candy people give you at Halloween? If you didn't accept it, it wouldn't be yours. The same is true with God's great gift of forgiveness and eternal life. You have to accept his gift. That means, ask Jesus to forgive you for the bad things you've done, and be-lieve that he died for you and rose to heaven to take away your sin. "For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord" Romans 6:23. If you want God's amazing gift of eternal life, then say a prayer like this: God, I'm sorry I do bad things. Please forgive me. I believe your only Son, Jesus Christ, died on the cross and rose again to take away my sins. Thank you for loving me so much and giving me your gift of eternal life. Amen!
