1. Conditions d’Établissement en plan. — Les plans inclinés ascendants sont presque toujours tracés en ligne droite. Quand ils présentent une inflexion, cette inflexion est toujours faible et ménagée le plus souvent soit aux abords des stations d’arrivée ou de départ, soit vers le milieu en un point où il y a parfois ralentissement de vitesse. Quand le chemin est à une seule voie, le point d’évitement se trouve nécessairement au milieu ; on ralentit la marche aux abords de ce point, et on en profite quelquefois pour y ménager une courbe ; cela a été fait souvent, notamment aux funiculaires de Rives-Thonon et du Burgenstock, où l’on a admis pour ce dernier une courbe de 140 mètres sur le garage intermédiaire. Fruit d’une sélection réalisée au sein des fonds de la Bibliothèque nationale de France, Collection XIX a pour ambition de faire découvrir des textes classiques et moins classiques dans les meilleures éditions du XIXe siècle.
