Book Description
Excerpt from Chemical Kinetics in the C-O-S and H-N-O-S Systems: A Bibliography, 1899 Through June 1971 The task of critical evaluation 18 carried out in various data centers, each with a well-defined technical scope. A necessary preliminary step to the critical evaluation process is the retrieval from the werld scientific literature of all papers falling within the scope of the center. Each center, therefore, builds up a com prehensive well-indexed bibliographical file which forms the base for the evaluation task. Since these bibliographical records are potentially of value to many research workers and others interested in the particular technical area, it seems desirable to make them generally available. Chemical Kinetics and Process Dynamics in Aquatic Systems

Chemical Kinetics and Process Dynamics in Aquatic Systems PDF Author: PatrickL. Brezonik
Publisher: Routledge
ISBN: 1351461508
Category : Science
Languages : en
Pages : 784

Book Description
Chemical Kinetics and Process Dynamics in Aquatic Systems is devoted to chemical reactions and biogeochemical processes in aquatic systems. The book provides a thorough analysis of the principles, mathematics, and analytical tools used in chemical, microbial, and reactor kinetics. It also presents a comprehensive, up-to-date description of the kinetics of important chemical processes in aquatic environments. Aquatic photochemistry and correlation methods (e.g., LFERs and QSARs) to predict process rates are covered. Numerous examples are included, and each chapter has a detailed bibliography and problems sets. The book will be an excellent text/reference for professionals and students in such fields as aquatic chemistry, limnology, aqueous geochemistry, microbial ecology, marine science, environmental and water resources engineering, and geochemistry.

Chemical Kinetics

Chemical Kinetics PDF Author: Vivek Patel
Publisher: BoD – Books on Demand
ISBN: 9535101323
Category : Science
Languages : en
Pages : 358

Book Description
Chemical Kinetics relates to the rates of chemical reactions and factors such as concentration and temperature, which affects the rates of chemical reactions. Such studies are important in providing essential evidence as to the mechanisms of chemical processes. The book is designed to help the reader, particularly students and researchers of physical science, understand the chemical kinetics mechanics and chemical reactions. The selection of topics addressed and the examples, tables and graphs used to illustrate them are governed, to a large extent, by the fact that this book is aimed primarily at physical science (mainly chemistry) technologists. Undoubtedly, this book contains "must read" materials for students, engineers, and researchers working in the chemistry and chemical kinetics area. This book provides valuable insight into the mechanisms and chemical reactions. It is written in concise, self-explanatory and informative manner by a world class scientists in the field.

Chemical Kinetics of Homogeneous Systems

Chemical Kinetics of Homogeneous Systems PDF Author: R. Schaal
Publisher: Springer Science & Business Media
ISBN: 9401022011
Category : Science
Languages : en
Pages : 188

Book Description
Chemical kinetics aims to explain the factors governing the change with time of chemical systems. The results enable one to define optimum technico-economic condi tions (such as the choice of batch or continuous processes; of concentration, temperature, and pressure; of whether to use a catalyst) for the preparation of products, so that kinetics is intimately bound up with many processes of chemical industry (production, explosions, combustion, propulsion in air and in space). On another level, kinetic studies are indispensable for understanding reaction mechanisms, which implies a de tailed knowledge of the different chemical intermediates (possibly very transitory) of a chemical reaction. But in practice it is rarely possible to work with microscopic quantities of reagents and, with the exception of crossed molecular beams, all methods give only statistical results concerning a large number of molecules. Because of this restriction, it has not always been possible to establish conclusively a reaction mechanism, even for reactions ap parently simple. Numerous attempts have been made to calculate rate constants from the physical properties of the participating molecules; but the introduction of the 'time' factor into calculations of the distribution of energies of chemical processes makes this very difficult, so that the elucidation of mechanisms still depends almost entirely on experi mental studies. However, several theories have been elab orated which, in giving a more and more precise picture of the reaction process, have proved very fruitful, and have become indispensable in designing experiments.

Chemical Kinetics and Mechanism

Chemical Kinetics and Mechanism PDF Author: Michael Mortimer
Publisher: Royal Society of Chemistry
ISBN: 9780854046706
Category : Education
Languages : en
Pages : 270

Book Description
Annotation This book considers the role of the rate of reaction, starting with an introduction to chemical kinetics (measuring rates of reaction, order of reaction, reaction mechanisms). It then illustrates how the outcome of predictions can be made, where this is determined by the reaction rate. The concept of the functional group is introduced and is followed by a discussion of the characteristic reactions of several functional groups and the common mechanisms of organic reactions, substitution and elimination. An interactive CD-ROM accompanies the book. This book is part of The Molecular World series which aims to provide a broad foundation in chemistry.
