General description of the collection: The Charles A. Garrett, Jr. papers consist of a completed Korean War Veterans Survey questionnaire. Garrett recalls eating C-rations all the time. The equipment, clothes and weapons were all good. The medical care at the front was decent and in the rear it was excellent. There was no looting and soldiers cooperated well with civilians. The infantry support for the tanks was very good and they were never under air attack. He had no contact with any Korean Augmentation to United States Army (KATUSA) or Republic of Korea (ROK) soldiers. He recalls going on one reconnaissance mission with a12-man infantry group. The rotation system meant that there were not very many veteran soldiers in the field. He thought that the Ethiopian Battalion was an excellent group of soldiers.
