La recherche de la performance est désormais au centre des attentes dans les hôpitaux publics. L'Agence nationale d'appui à la performance a développé un outil destiné à cartographier l'activité de stérilisation et évaluer la performance du service : Autodiag Stérilisation. Il utilise pour cela l'indicateur unité d'œuvre stérilisation mis au point par la Société française des sciences de la stérilisation. A l'aide de cet outil, nous avons dressé une cartographie détaillée de l'activité de notre service de stérilisation réparti sur deux sites géographiquement distincts, au CHU de Bordeaux. Cette cartographie nous a donné des informations très détaillées et nous a conduit à des pistes de réflexion sur les possibilités d'optimisation des ressources humaines, matérielles et logistiques de nos deux sites. L'analyse des coûts de production permet une facturation juste, et l'analyse de l'utilisation des équipements pourra nous aider à appuyer une démarche de renouvellement de ceux-ci auprès des directions. La sortie de l'outil Autodiag Stérilisation aboutissant à des cartographies détaillées et de l'outil MELOG vont probablement encourager davantage d'établissements à se lancer dans des démarches de coopération, notamment dans le cadre de sous-traitances en lien ou non avec le groupement hospitalier de territoire.
