Welcome to Brass in Color! Trombone Book One of the Brass in Color Beginner Method Series introduces a color-coded tablature method (Color Slide Positions) to help students learn the slide positions of the trombone and apply them to notes in the Middle Range. In this beginner method series students learn the note’s pitch by listening to his or her instructor, and by using the Color Slide Positions students will be able to easily match the note’s pitch with the positions of the trombone. Standard music notation has also been included with each lesson to help the instructor know which notes to play and to teach students how to read the notes as they match them with the slide positions of the trombone.
