Limbeck shortly before his premature death and represents the latest German edition save for the fact that Dr. Freund's chapter, which deals chiefly with the physiological aspects of blood coagulation, and certain other passages have been considerably condensed. Limbeck had a world-wide reputation as an authority upon all points connected with the physiology, pathology, and chemistry of the blood, and his early death was a heavy blow to every one interested in these subjects.
