Forsaken Poetry PDF Author: Shawn Roach

ISBN: 1984545159
Category : Poetry
Languages : en
Pages : 134

Book Description
I will not say I am from the streets, but my parents, on the other hand, were all from the good streets of our hometown, Evanston, where we learned to read and write just to join gangs and fight, stay out, be another teen dropout, or keep going to monthly court dates from selling drugs all night. Our hometown, Evanston, was more like living that Chicago life. But walking in my shoes at another view, I was in a private school. They made me kinda book smart, learning different types of information as a younger fool, reading letters out of the encyclopedia, and learning words I didn’t know, which I look up in a dictionary.

Yeats, Eliot, Pound and the Politics of Poetry

Yeats, Eliot, Pound and the Politics of Poetry PDF Author: Cairns Prof. Craig
Publisher: Routledge
ISBN: 131733082X
Category : Literary Criticism
Languages : en
Pages : 298

Book Description
It has long been recognised that there is an apparently paradoxical relationship between the revolutionary poetic style developed by Yeats, Eliot and Pound in the period during and after the First World War, and the reactionary politics with which they were associated in the 1920s and 1930s. Concentrating on their writings in the period up to the 1930s, this study, first published in 1982, helps to resolve the paradox and also provides a much needed reappraisal of the factors influencing their poetic and political development. The work of these poets has usually been seen as deriving from the tradition of continental symbolist poetics. Yeats, Eliot, Pound and the Politics of Poetry will be of interest to students of literature.

It is concerned with sharing knowledge and experience about user involvement in palliative care and making it more real for the future. In modern times, the importance of 'end of life care' was highlighted by the pioneers of the voluntary hospice movement. They emphasised the importance of palliative care being based on an holistic approach that took account of all aspects of people's lives and deaths; medical, social, spiritual and material. More recently the work of the independent hospice movement has been complemented by the development and expansion of specialist palliative care in state provision. The aim has been to enable people to be able to 'do it their way' with a real sense of control and to be able to communicate their unique words, voices and experience. This is and will always be a key potential of user involvement.' - Suzy Croft and Peter Beresford, in the Preface.
