Book Description
ABOUT THE BOOKWhen little children are reared and socialized into lifestyles fashioned by Evil or "Little" humans, they are on a problematic course in life that involves being Deceived/Deceptors. Class I demean or stereotype others. Class II, Self-Imposed justification/denial of harms to oneself. Class III, refusing to study ones Unexamined Assumptions. Class IV, Deceptions which elevate Play/Fun/Pleasure over doing daily living Necessities. Class V, Deceptions of failing to do proper Self-Protection, Other-Protection, "ME/WE" Protection. Class VI, Misinterpretations-i.e. one may misinterpret they are being deceived when they are not or that they are not being deceived when they are. Class VII, Misinterpretations from lack of knowledge. Since people are socialized to think in "All-or-None" and "Either/Or" terms, what they see on their own or what is presented may have nothing to do with these terms and yet are interpreted that way. This is a reason I, as an Isolated Individualist who does things "My own way," do not like for others to observe what I do or produce because they give it their own bad opinions. Class VIII, Deceptions which do good for others, oneself, the "ME/WE"; Class IX, present what "SEEMs" right but gives false impressions, whether by appearance, statement, influence, as do riches impart false impressions of one living the "Good Life." Maybe 90% is true but that so disguises the other 10% as for one to not be aware by assuming it to be Right/"Almost Right" since Deceivers are nice, friendly. Class X, counterfeit anything. Class XI, "Double-Cross"-i.e. deliberate betrayal of a promise or obligation. As a boy, I was taught that the degree to which I kept my word was the measure of my "Manhood." Class XII, Fraud (mainly money) is getting people to give up truly meaningful. Class XIII, Subterfuge, used for cowardly escapes or censure, as in evading performance of a duty or a provision of law. Class XIV, Deceptive Bad Language, with intents to mislead--withholds what is vital to knowledge, while perhaps bearing gifts to persuade. It is Non-Spiritual Language, done by "Conditioned" Language-i.e. slow, cumulative experience processes of changing (instinct) normal into (acquired) unique; is birthed from Selective Language Editing so Humankind's dumbest people can fake "How great we are/how bad they are." Methods include: (1) Word Channeling Language, powerful ways to socialize people into Mind Control, determines names for things-meanings/values of those things. (2) "Word Deprivation" Language, keeping one from knowing what one does not know; (3) "Broad stroking" Language "too much"/"too little"; (4) Ambiguity Language too many definitions/too many meanings for one word + too many names for one definition/meaning. (5) Deceptive Bad "Big Words" Language by Sesquipedalians-i.e. Fake Intelligent people addicted to using big, long, rarely used words + words concerning meaningless topics. They are conveyed to Victims by fast talking, so Receivers do not have time to think about what is said that makes no sense-as is typical of all Deceptive Bad Language. To look up a given such word in multiple dictionaries is to find most do not carry the word; of those that do, no definitions agree. These fantasies are amazingly deceptively effective, via influencing world-wide media, schools, religions, court systems, marketplace advertising. Receivers have no choice but to go to the Deceivers for guidance. Class XV, Deceive by Empty Words; Class XVI, Belittling true character of Sins, Evil. Class XVII, not saying Reality/Truth. Class XVII, Misplace Blame; Class XIX, pollute the Spiritual with opinions. Class XX, what ignorant, fools, stupid, con-artist, wicked people do

Book Description
The book describes the movement by African American authors from slave narratives and antebellum newspapers into fiction writing, and the subsequent developments of black genre fiction through the present. It analyzes works by modern African American mystery writers, focusing on sleuths, the social locations of crime, victims and offenders, the notion of "doing justice," and the role of African American cultural vernacular in mystery fiction. A final section focuses on readers and reading, examining African American mystery writers' access to the marketplace and the issue of the "double audience" raised by earlier writers. In Defense of Housing

In Defense of Housing PDF Author: Peter Marcuse
Publisher: Verso Books
ISBN: 1804294942
Category : Political Science
Languages : en
Pages : 257

Book Description
In every major city in the world there is a housing crisis. How did this happen and what can we do about it? Everyone needs and deserves housing. But today our homes are being transformed into commodities, making the inequalities of the city ever more acute. Profit has become more important than social need. The poor are forced to pay more for worse housing. Communities are faced with the violence of displacement and gentrification. And the benefits of decent housing are only available for those who can afford it. In Defense of Housing is the definitive statement on this crisis from leading urban planner Peter Marcuse and sociologist David Madden. They look at the causes and consequences of the housing problem and detail the need for progressive alternatives. The housing crisis cannot be solved by minor policy shifts, they argue. Rather, the housing crisis has deep political and economic roots—and therefore requires a radical response.

Category : Psychology

Pages : 412

Book Description
One of America's preeminent psychiatrists draws on his famous Study of Adult Development to give us an exhilarating look at how the mind's defenses work. What we see as the mind's trickery, George Vaillant tells us, is actually healthy. What's more, it can reveal the mind at its most creative and mature, soothing and protecting us in the face of unbearable reality, managing the unmanageable, ordering disorder. And because creativity is so intrinsic to this alchemy of the ego, Vaillant mingles his studies of obscure lives with psychobiographies of famous artists and others--including Florence Nightingale, Sylvia Plath, Anna Freud, and Eugene O'Neill.

Practise to Deceive

Practise to Deceive PDF Author: Estate of Barton Whaley
Publisher: Naval Institute Press
ISBN: 1612519830
Category : Political Science
Languages : en
Pages : 281

Book Description
Written by the undisputed dean of U.S. denial and deception experts, Practise to Deceive is the most in-depth look at deception as a military strategy. Barton Whaley knew the history of denial and deception across time, disciplines, and culture. He was the foremost authority on the intricacies of denial and deception strategy and tactics. For Whaley, deception was a mind-game, requiring imagination, deep critical thought, a profound understanding of the enemy as well as one's self (a variation of Sun Tzu), and patience and fortitude. This book presents 88 vividly descriptive case studies to serve as a handbook for intelligence and military professionals. In Whaley's analysis, variations in guilefulness between opposing individuals or groups can be crucial in deciding who achieves victory in combat.

The Praetorian STARShip : the untold story of the Combat Talon

The Praetorian STARShip : the untold story of the Combat Talon PDF Author:
Publisher: DIANE Publishing
ISBN: 1428990437
Category :
Languages : en
Pages : 507

Book Description
Jerry Thigpen's study on the history of the Combat Talon is the first effort to tell the story of this wonderfully capable machine. This weapons system has performed virtually every imaginable tactical event in the spectrum of conflict and by any measure is the most versatile C-130 derivative ever produced. First modified and sent to Southeast Asia (SEA) in 1966 to replace theater unconventional warfare (UW) assets that were limited in both lift capability and speed the Talon I quickly adapted to theater UW tasking including infiltration and resupply and psychological warfare operations into North Vietnam. After spending four years in SEA and maturing into a highly respected UW weapons system the Joint Chief of Staff (JCS) chose the Combat Talon to lead the night low-level raid on the North Vietnamese prison camp at Son Tay. Despite the outcome of the operation the Talon I cemented its reputation as the weapons system of choice for long-range clandestine operations. In the period following the Vietnam War United States Air Force (USAF) special operations gradually lost its political and financial support which was graphically demonstrated in the failed Desert One mission into Iran. Thanks to congressional supporters like Earl Hutto of Florida and Dan Daniel of Virginia funds for aircraft upgrades and military construction projects materialized to meet the ever-increasing threat to our nation. Under the leadership of such committed hard-driven officers as Brenci Uttaro Ferkes Meller and Thigpen the crew force became the most disciplined in our Air Force. It was capable of penetrating hostile airspace at night in a low-level mountainous environment covertly to execute any number of unconventional warfare missions.

I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings

I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings PDF Author: Maya Angelou
Publisher: Random House
ISBN: 030747772X
Category : Biography & Autobiography
Languages : en
Pages : 289

Book Description
Here is a book as joyous and painful, as mysterious and memorable, as childhood itself. I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings captures the longing of lonely children, the brute insult of bigotry, and the wonder of words that can make the world right. Maya Angelou’s debut memoir is a modern American classic beloved worldwide. Sent by their mother to live with their devout, self-sufficient grandmother in a small Southern town, Maya and her brother, Bailey, endure the ache of abandonment and the prejudice of the local “powhitetrash.” At eight years old and back at her mother’s side in St. Louis, Maya is attacked by a man many times her age—and has to live with the consequences for a lifetime. Years later, in San Francisco, Maya learns that love for herself, the kindness of others, her own strong spirit, and the ideas of great authors (“I met and fell in love with William Shakespeare”) will allow her to be free instead of imprisoned. Poetic and powerful, I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings will touch hearts and change minds for as long as people read. “I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings liberates the reader into life simply because Maya Angelou confronts her own life with such a moving wonder, such a luminous dignity.”—James Baldwin From the Paperback edition.
