Writing that the catalogue of his famous collection of Chinese porcelain, which had appeared the previous year, "was brought out by Mr. Marks, not by me. & at his cost & risk-- not at mine. It was illustrated by Mr Whistler." He has "a copy or two" and will lend her one "with pleasure for a month or so. if it can be of any use to you-- wh is perhaps doubtful." He thinks it is out of print, and that there were "200 copies originally," which "almost all sold at once" at a price of two guineas.
