Ésta era hablada por los romanos en la península itálica, y también usada en el comercio mediterráneo desde la costa atlántica hasta Asia Menor, una extensión sin precedente en Europa. Se estableció incluso fuera del ámbito comercial como lengua cotidiana lejos de Italia, en territorios distantes con poblaciones heterogéneas, como fue el caso en Hispania. Como es bien sabido, el latín no sobrevivió en su forma oral hasta nuestros tiempos, pero en cambio se entabló un gran número de sus "descendientes", que son las llamadas lenguas románicas. La lengua románica más usada hoy en día es el castellano. Es el idioma oficial en 21 países y es hablado por más de 350 millones de personas . Sin embargo, a pesar de que el castellano en esencia üproviene del latín, se consideran ambas como dos lenguas distintas, de manera que una persona hispanohablante no entendería necesariamente un texto en latín. Por esto surge la cuestión ¿De qué manera evolucionó el latín al castellano? Durante el transcurso de esta investigación y gracias a distintas fuentes hemos llegado a comprender los procesos en la fonología y morfología que formaron el castellano como lo conocemos hoy. Mi trabajo va a tratar el español medieval como fase transicional. Para esto se dará un visto histórico en cuanto al idioma que va a tratar sobre el latín vulgar desde la llegada de los romanos a la península ibérica hasta finales del siglo XV que constituye el fin de la Edad Media. En la parte principal el trabajo presenta los principales tipos de cambio fonológico que son necesarios para entender las modificaciones que sufrieron las vocales y las consonantes. A central debate about the description of auxiliary selection concerns the regularity of auxiliary selection from a typological perspective. Thus, studies of auxiliary selection have both stressed the fact that certain recurrent parameters are highly relevant to the description of auxiliary selection, whereas other studies demonstrate significant differences in auxiliary selection systems. By integrating the synchronic and diachronic levels of linguistic description, the papers in the present volume work towards a framework that explains these contradictory findings.
