Chapter 74: Stupid thing As soon as Hoa Luu Ly finished speaking, there was a gentle knocking sound outside the door. "Princess Phuc Tho, His Majesty has come to visit you." Trieu Tam Tai said outside the door, "I don't know if it's convenient for you right now." Dien Vi stood up and put down the bed curtain. Ngoc Dung opened the door and everyone bowed at the same time. "Your Majesty, please forgive me for being seriously injured and unable to pay my respects to you." "No need to be too polite, no need to be too polite." Emperor Xuong Long sat down in front of the silk curtain in the room, asked what medicine Hoa Luu Ly's maids used, and whether they had eaten rice after waking up. After asking, he was friendly and approachable and said to Hoa Luu Ly: "The Queen Mother I treat you like my own niece, then you are also considered half of my

Time-of-Flight and Depth Imaging. Sensors, Algorithms and Applications

Time-of-Flight and Depth Imaging. Sensors, Algorithms and Applications PDF Author: Marcin Grzegorzek
Publisher: Springer
ISBN: 3642449646
Category : Computers
Languages : en
Pages : 324

Book Description
Cameras for 3D depth imaging, using either time-of-flight (ToF) or structured light sensors, have received a lot of attention recently and have been improved considerably over the last few years. The present techniques make full-range 3D data available at video frame rates, and thus pave the way for a much broader application of 3D vision systems. A series of workshops have closely followed the developments within ToF imaging over the years. Today, depth imaging workshops can be found at every major computer vision conference. The papers presented in this volume stem from a seminar on Time-of-Flight Imaging held at Schloss Dagstuhl in October 2012. They cover all aspects of ToF depth imaging, from sensors and basic foundations, to algorithms for low level processing, to important applications that exploit depth imaging. In addition, this book contains the proceedings of a workshop on Imaging New Modalities, which was held at the German Conference on Pattern Recognition in Saarbrücken, Germany, in September 2013. A state-of-the-art report on the Kinect sensor and its applications is followed by two reports on local and global ToF motion compensation and a novel depth capture system using a plenoptic multi-lens multi-focus camera sensor.

Document and Image Compression

Document and Image Compression PDF Author: Mauro Barni
Publisher: CRC Press
ISBN: 1420018833
Category : Technology & Engineering
Languages : en
Pages : 456

Book Description
Although it's true that image compression research is a mature field, continued improvements in computing power and image representation tools keep the field spry. Faster processors enable previously intractable compression algorithms and schemes, and certainly the demand for highly portable high-quality images will not abate. Document and Image Compression highlights the current state of the field along with the most probable and promising future research directions for image coding. Organized into three broad sections, the book examines the currently available techniques, future directions, and techniques for specific classes of images. It begins with an introduction to multiresolution image representation, advanced coding and modeling techniques, and the basics of perceptual image coding. This leads to discussions of the JPEG 2000 and JPEG-LS standards, lossless coding, and fractal image compression. New directions are highlighted that involve image coding and representation paradigms beyond the wavelet-based framework, the use of redundant dictionaries, the distributed source coding paradigm, and novel data-hiding techniques. The book concludes with techniques developed for classes of images where the general-purpose algorithms fail, such as for binary images and shapes, compound documents, remote sensing images, medical images, and VLSI layout image data. Contributed by international experts, Document and Image Compression gathers the latest and most important developments in image coding into a single, convenient, and authoritative source.

Book Description
Style, Society, and Person integrates the diverse current and past understandings of the causes of style in material culture. It comprehensively surveys the many factors that cause style; reviews theories that address these factors; builds and tests a unifying framework for integrating the theories; and illustrates the framework with detailed analyses of archaeological and ethnographic data ranging from simple to complex societies. Archaeologists, sociocultural anthropologists, and educators will appreciate the unique unifying approach this book takes to developing style theory.

Heart Mechanics

Heart Mechanics PDF Author: El-Sayed H. Ibrahim

ISBN: 1482263696
Category : Medical
Languages : en
Pages : 614

Book Description
MRI techniques have been recently introduced for non-invasive qualification of regional myocardial mechanics, which is not achievable with other imaging modalities. Covering more than twenty-three years of developments in MRI techniques for accessing heart mechanics, this book provides a plethora of techniques and concepts that assist readers choose the best technique for their purpose. It reviews research studies and clinical trials that implemented MRI techniques for studying heart mechanics.

Geoarchaeology, Climate Change, and Sustainability

Geoarchaeology, Climate Change, and Sustainability PDF Author: Antony G. Brown
Publisher: Geological Society of America
ISBN: 0813724767
Category : Science
Languages : en
Pages : 206

Book Description
This volume provides a broad survey of recent advances in geoarchaeology with particular attention to environmental change. The fourteen chapters include methodologically innovative research, case studies valuable for teaching, and the use of geological techniques to answer archaeological questions from lower Paleolithic hunting to the location of Homer's Ithaca. Geoarchaeology, Climate Change, and Sustainability also includes a major position paper and, unusually, two papers on the management of the geoarchaeological resource. Both the geographical and chronological coverage are broad ranging from the Lower Paleolithic (lower Pleistocene) to the Iron Age (late Holocene), and from rural Iran to urban Manhattan. The research presented here clearly demonstrates the value and practical application of geoarchaeological techniques from sediment-based dating to geographic information systems.
