Book Description
In approximation theory, neutrosophic set and logic show an important role. They are generalizations of intuitionistic fuzzy set and logic respectively. Based on neutrosophy, which is a new branch of philosophy, every idea X, has an opposite denoted as anti (X) and their neutral which is denoted as neut (X). These are the main features of neutrosophic set and logic. This chapter is based on the basic concepts of neutrosophic set as well as some of their hybrid structures. In this chapter, we define and study the notion of neutrosophic set and their basic properties. Moreover, interval-valued neutrosophic set are studied with some of their properties. Finally, we define rough neutrosophic sets.

Fuzzy Multi-criteria Decision-Making Using Neutrosophic Sets

Fuzzy Multi-criteria Decision-Making Using Neutrosophic Sets PDF Author: Cengiz Kahraman
Publisher: Springer
ISBN: 3030000451
Category : Technology & Engineering
Languages : en
Pages : 735

Book Description
This book offers a comprehensive guide to the use of neutrosophic sets in multiple criteria decision making problems. It shows how neutrosophic sets, which have been developed as an extension of fuzzy and paraconsistent logic, can help in dealing with certain types of uncertainty that classical methods could not cope with. The chapters, written by well-known researchers, report on cutting-edge methodologies they have been developing and testing on a variety of engineering problems. The book is unique in its kind as it reports for the first time and in a comprehensive manner on the joint use of neutrosophic sets together with existing decision making methods to solve multi-criteria decision-making problems, as well as other engineering problems that are complex, hard to model and/or include incomplete and vague data. By providing new ideas, suggestions and directions for the solution of complex problems in engineering and decision making, it represents an excellent guide for researchers, lecturers and postgraduate students pursuing research on neutrosophic decision making, and more in general in the area of industrial and management engineering.

Interval neutrosophic covering rough sets based on neighborhoods PDF Author: Dongsheng Xu

Category : Mathematics
Languages : en
Pages : 16

Book Description
Covering rough set is a classical generalization of rough set. As covering rough set is a mathematical tool to deal with incomplete and incomplete data, it has been widely used in various fields. The aim of this paper is to extend the covering rough sets to interval neutrosophic sets, which can make multi-attribute decision making problem more tractable. Interval neutrosophic covering rough sets can be viewed as the bridge connecting Interval neutrosophic sets and covering rough sets. Firstly, the paper introduces the definition of interval neutrosophic sets and covering rough sets, where the covering rough set is defined by neighborhood. Secondly, Some basic properties and operation rules of interval neutrosophic sets and covering rough sets are discussed. Thirdly, the definition of interval neutrosophic covering rough sets are proposed. Then, some theorems are put forward and their proofs of interval neutrosophic covering rough sets also be gived. Lastly, this paper gives a numerical example to apply the interval neutrosophic covering rough sets.

Generalized Interval Neutrosophic Rough Sets and its Application in Multi-Attribute Decision Making

Generalized Interval Neutrosophic Rough Sets and its Application in Multi-Attribute Decision Making PDF Author: Hai-Long Yang

Book Description
Neutrosophic set (NS) was originally proposed by Smarandache to handle indeterminate and inconsistent information. It is a generalization of fuzzy sets and intuitionistic fuzzy sets. Wang and Smarandache proposed interval neutrosophic sets (INS) which is a special case of NSs and would be extensively applied to resolve practical issues. In this paper, we put forward generalized interval neutrosophic rough sets based on interval neutrosophic relations by combining interval neutrosophic sets with rough sets. We explore the hybrid model through constructive approach as well as axiomatic approach. On one hand, we define generalized interval neutrosophic lower and upper approximation operators through constructive approach. Moreover, we investigate the relevance between generalized interval neutrosophic lower (upper) approximation operators and particular interval neutrosophic relations. On the other hand, we study axiomatic characterizations of generalized interval neutrosophic approximation operators, and also show that different axiom sets of theoretical interval neutrosophic operators make sure the existence of different classes of INRs that yield the same interval neutrosophic approximation operators. Finally, we introduce generalized interval neutrosophic rough sets on two universes and a universal algorithm of multi-attribute decision making based on generalized interval neutrosophic rough sets on two universes. Besides, an example is given to demonstrate the validity of the new rough set model.

Subtraction and Division Operations of Simplified Neutrosophic Sets

Subtraction and Division Operations of Simplified Neutrosophic Sets PDF Author: Jun Ye

Pages : 7

Book Description
This paper proposes subtraction operation and division operation for simplified neutrosophic sets, including single valued neutrosophic sets and interval neutrosophic sets respectively, under some constrained conditions to form the integral theoretical framework of simplified neutrosophic sets. In addition, we give numerical examples to illustrate the defined operations. The subtraction and division operations are very important in many practical applications, such as decision making and image processing.

Dombi Aggregation Operators of Neutrosophic Cubic Sets for Multiple Attribute Decision-Making

Dombi Aggregation Operators of Neutrosophic Cubic Sets for Multiple Attribute Decision-Making PDF Author: Lilian Shi
Publisher: Infinite Study

Pages : 15

Book Description
The neutrosophic cubic set can describe complex decision-making problems with its single-valued neutrosophic numbers and interval neutrosophic numbers simultaneously. The Dombi operations have the advantage of good flexibility with the operational parameter. In order to solve decision-making problems with flexible operational parameter under neutrosophic cubic environments, the paper extends the Dombi operations to neutrosophic cubic sets and proposes a neutrosophic cubic Dombi weighted arithmetic average (NCDWAA) operator and a neutrosophic cubic Dombi weighted geometric average (NCDWGA) operator. Then, we propose a multiple attribute decision-making (MADM) method based on the NCDWAA and NCDWGA operators. Finally, we provide two illustrative examples of MADM to demonstrate the application and effectiveness of the established method.
