Book Description
We did something the English call 'gap year' trying to get the best out of it with a long travel around the world. Travelling was something unavoidable, an enriching experience in the life's process of becoming grown-ups. We left home for five months with an open 'round the world' flight ticket, two backpacks each and reservation only for the first night in Mumbai. It was not to be holiday everyday but a long searching for accomodations, connections and sites, and we were going to be rovers carrying everything we had on our shoulders. Six jumps around the world going eastbound, choosing India as first jump, and Thailand as second. Leaving Asia's exotic appeal, New Zealand was a coming back to western society, while Chile became our door to South America. Argentina a gigantic, past land. Buenos Aires, Iguazù, Salta, Cafayate, San Juan: twenty two days of north between enormous waters and almost desert, vineyards, coloured mountains, condors, foxes, toucans and the strongest scent of almost Europe.

The Gods of Eden and Operation High Jump
Author: Moshe Mazin
Publisher: Strategic Book Publishing & Rights Agency
ISBN: 168181823X
Category : Fiction
Languages : en
Pages : 354
Book Description
One of the most amazing epic stories in recent memory, the connection between ancient alien beings and human history is captured in this mesmerizing science fiction novel. A biblical passage from the Book of Genesis points the way to this connection, which recently has been tied to new excavations in Southeast Turkey, thought by several archeologists to be the site of the fabled Garden of Eden. The story ties the ancient Jewish staff of Moses to the Knights Templers, the Bilderberg Group, the American NSA, and Israeli intelligence services, all in pursuit of the secretive German Nazi Base 211 located at the South Pole in Antarctica. The American top secret Operation High Jump, which was recently partially declassified, raises many questions about the involvement of the world’s governments in a cover-up of alien presence on Earth.

My First 1,000 Jumps
Author: Norm Heaton
Publisher: Page Publishing Inc
ISBN: 1645443973
Category : Biography & Autobiography
Languages : en
Pages : 910
Book Description
You are holding the only comprehensive history of the early days of the sport of skydiving yet published. It is the story of not just one skydiver but the story of many, the true pioneers of the sport. Just as important this book includes a complete history of the national organization established for the express purpose of promoting sport parachuting. While this history is restricted to a short fifteen years (1961-1975), those years were the most productive, most far-reaching, and the most exciting for the fledgling idea of jumping out of perfectly good airplanes for the sheer joy of it all, eventually establishing the sport of skydiving as an integral part of the world of aviation sports. This book tells the story of those formative years with details of battles fought to maintain freedom of the skies for all parachutists when government and corporate interests made numerous attempts to severely restrict the right of skydivers to use our nation's airspace. This story is told by a man who dedicated his life to the advancement of the sport, serving for twelve years as the chief executive officer of the national organization for skydivers, the Parachute Club of America / US Parachute Association. The reader will embark on a most exciting journey, a journey not told before, continually laced with personal stories that will touch your heart, make you smile, and occasionally make you laugh. This book contains over 400 photographs and 1,500 names of people from around the world who participated in that wonderful and exhilarating sport called skydiving.
