Partiendo de la necesidad actual de sistemas robustos y fiables capaces de cubrir las necesidades especificas en materia de control de emisiones, consumo de combustible y máximo desempeño dentro del ámbito automotriz, el presente trabajo busca establecer una posible solución dentro del área de gestión electrónica para el motor tomando en cuenta que los sistemas empleados en la actualidad en cuanto a composición están llegando a una madurez tecnológica. Dicho lo anterior, este trabajo busca dar una aproximación a la interacción y gestión de las variables más representativas dentro del motor de combustión interna al analizar sus diferentes ciclos de funcionamiento, sensores que intervienen en la adquisición de datos, procesamiento de los mismos y creación de la señal de salida hacia los diferentes actuadores buscando de esta forma una mejora del sistema sin necesidad de recurrir a alteraciones físicas dando como resultado una mayor flexibilidad para diferentes aplicaciones con una reducción de costos importantes, también se analizan los contaminantes más importantes generados por el sistema de combustión interna y su gestión mediante las interacciones con las variables y elementos analizados anteriormente conjuntando ambas partes. De la misma forma se propone un sistema de gestión auto regulable mediante la aplicación de una ANN (Artificial Neural Network) la cual se plantea como un predictor del consumo específico para un perfil de conducción deseado teniendo de esta forma la cantidad en gramos de combustible a utilizar y la estimación del consumo a los 100 km de manera teórica.
