Regional Economic Planning

Regional Economic Planning PDF Author: R. C. Jensen
Publisher: Routledge
ISBN: 1351594443
Category : Business & Economics
Languages : en
Pages : 254

Book Description
Originally published in 1979. Decision makers at all levels need sufficiently detailed information on regional economic structure in order to undertake consistent and comprehensive regional planning. A means is put forward here, elevating the impracticable regional input-output method, to that of an operational planning technique. This development represents a system which facilitates the examination both of the economic structure of individual regions in reasonable detail, and of the regional structure of the state economy. The technique, termed the Generation of Regional Input-Output Tables (GRIT), is designed for general use in the production of regional input-output tables, and other data sources contributing towards the holistic accuracy of the table, thereby providing accurate maximisation of input-output tables within a given budget constraint.

Economic Structure and Maturity: Collected Papers in Input-output Modelling and Applications

Economic Structure and Maturity: Collected Papers in Input-output Modelling and Applications PDF Author: Ranko Bon
Publisher: Routledge
ISBN: 1351793527
Category : Business & Economics
Languages : en
Pages : 342

Book Description
This title was first published in 2000: A collection of Ranko Bon's papers on input-output analysis and its applications. The underlying feature of the papers is a focus on the supply-side input-output model, which better predicts the behaviour of mature economic sectors, such as agriculture and mining, than the demand-sided model. The construction sector is especially relevant in the context of economic stability and maturity issues, as it offers an index of economic maturity for entire economies. This is the main theme that evolves through the papers collected in the book.

Applications of the Input-Output Framework

Applications of the Input-Output Framework PDF Author: Kakali Mukhopadhyay
Publisher: Springer
ISBN: 9811315078
Category : Business & Economics
Languages : en
Pages : 453

Book Description
This book provides a fresh perspective on the ever-growing relevance of input-output analysis in problem solving. It is based on the “19th National Conference of the Input-Output Research Association of India (IORA)”, held in 2017 in Mumbai, India. The conference promoted the exchange of ideas on input-output analysis and related methods among economists, government officials, policymakers, academicians and industrialists. The book captures the unique ideas of prominent scholars, extends the basic “input-output framework,” analytical tool, outlines the possible impacts of some major policy decisions adopted by the Government of India, and puts forward concrete policy suggestions. In addition, it highlights the versatility of the Leontief model, which is currently being extended to cover a diverse spectrum of policy issues, ranging from agricultural productivity to science and technology and from carbon hotspots to energy and environmental consequences. A perfect blend of theory and application, the book provides a realistic outlook on sensitive economies and interdependencies between sectors.
