P. albeolus sp. n. представляется близко родственным надвиду “P. astronesthidens”, но отличается от всех известных видов рода однотонно белесой окраской тела и фотофоров. P. vityazi sp. n. представляется наиболее близким к P. altipinnis, но отличается от всех известных видов рода наличием желобообразных полос светящейся ткани вместо серийных фотофоров. Номинальный род Myersiscus Fowler, 1934 является синонимом Pseudoscopelus, а вид P. microps Fowler, 1934 синонимизирован с P. altipinnis Parr, 1933.
