The number of pages has been in creased, and this bulletin is on a self-supporting basis. More than 200 papers have been published in outside technical journals. T here have also been released to the press about 250 short accounts of interf esting achievements, together with many photographs illustrating the bureau's work. These news items serve as nontechnical progress reports on the activities of the bureau to the taxpayers of the country. There was also issued the first annual number of the Standards Yearbook, giving a summary of standardization activities in the United States for the past year.
