Book Description
Do you think heaven isn't real and God doesn't intervene in our lives? Our maker not only knows each one of us intimately, but he genuinely cares about us. Having experienced such profound grief at the deaths of my parents in 1988 and 1989, I was angry and resentful at God for taking them away. They were good Christians who raised eight children in the faith and worked extremely hard all their lives. They did not deserve the cruel twists of fate that had befallen them when dad lost his airline job about 18 months before his retirement and suffered a major heart attack, only to be followed by mom getting breast cancer and succumbing to it almost 5 years later. All I know is that they were near retirement and died much too young, and I was profoundly bitter. Is there nothing too hard for God? I think not, as he not only created a start-up airline called "Jet Train," but whose corporate office just happened to be in Aliquippa, PA, the town we were residing in at the time. It was through my encounter with this airline where I would come to terms with their deaths and find peace. God then continued to bless me through Orbs and Spirits captured in photography taken. God knew I would author a book about it someday and tell the world. Of course he did, God knows everything, so here I am, and I am telling the world, "we don't die, we go on," God gave me proof, and so the story begins.

Pages : 472
Book Description
Out of the wickedly inventive imagination of #1 New York Times bestselling author J.R. Ward comes a world where sin and salvation collide in a battle for the future of mankind—where a cynical fallen angel struggles against the seven deadly sins and a demon’s lure over seven chosen souls... Mels Carmichael, reporter for the Caldwell Courier Journal, gets the shock of her life when a man stumbles in front of her car outside the local cemetery. After the accident, his amnesia is just the kind of mystery she likes to solve, but she soon discovers they’re in over their heads with his past. Over their heads with passion, too. As shadows walk the line between reality and another realm, and her lover’s memory begins to come back, the two of them learn that nothing is truly dead and buried. Especially when you’re trapped in a no holds barred war between angels and demons. With a soul on the line, and Mels’s heart at risk, what in Heaven—or in Hell—will it take to save them both?

Face to Face with Angels
Author: Sandra Gorgievski
Publisher: McFarland
ISBN: 0786457562
Category : Art
Languages : en
Pages : 233
Book Description
Arch-mediator between the divine and the mundane, the angel is an enduring figure in the Western world. It has been interpreted as an externalization of repressed fantasies, a projection of the self as other, and a metaphor for modern estrangement. This book is the first comparative study of sacred medieval images of angels and their cinematic treatment, including reference to both the medieval and modern imaginations. The text traces the traditional functions of angels and their reworking in film, then takes particular note of new icons like the female angel and others who become models for our connection with transcendence.

Precious Cargo
Author: Tiffany Zweifel
Publisher: Wipf and Stock Publishers
ISBN: 1666778125
Category : Fiction
Languages : en
Pages : 225
Book Description
All the passengers plus the copilot had zipped off the delayed plane, with their luggage bouncing behind them, when Kylie, the flight attendant, and Landon, the pilot, heard a whimpering cry that drew them to seat 21D, where a tiny, blue-eyed, golden-curled girl huddled, awaiting her mother’s return. But the mother had designs of her own, unbeknownst to the shocked trio left in her wake. As the innocent toddler grew increasingly central to their happiness, both Kylie and Landon feared the mother would come crashing back, this time to take Jessica away. What had happened to the woman? Something awful? Or was abandoning her daughter part of the plan? Would she reenter their lives as dramatically as she had once disappeared? While they hoped the mother would stay away, someone else was desperately searching for her. Their futures faced a collision course, but to a healing conclusion or a heap of smoking ruins? One thing was for sure—in an instant, five lives were permanently changed from their previous headings, a new course was charted, and a few hearts were hijacked by the abandoned precious cargo that Kylie scooped into her arms.
