Nicht nur die Produkte der Honigbiene (Honig, Bienenwachs, Propolis und Gelee royal) nutzt der Mensch, es können durch Analysen derselben auch Rückschlüsse auf den Zustand der Natur gezogen werden. Biomonitoring mittels Bienen, Honig und Wachs ist ein eleganter Weg um anthropogene Einflüsse auf die Umwelt zu ermitteln. In Bezug auf Herkunftsbestimmung von Lebensmitteln ist dies ein wichtiges Thema, weil der Konsument sich auf die Angaben auf der Verpackung verlassen können muss. Honig ist ein Qualitätsprodukt, das vor Fälschung und Falschdeklaration geschützt werden sollte. Um diese Aufgabe zu erfüllen, sind präzise und zuverlässige analytische Methoden notwendig. Der Hauptfokus dieser Masterarbeit liegt einerseits auf der Erstellung von Elementmustern in Böden, Pflanzen, Pollen und Honig, um zu ermitteln, welche Elementgehalte Rückschlüsse auf die Herkunft erlauben und andererseits auf der Erfassung von Elementen, welche über ihre Isotopenvariation eine mögliche Herkunftszuordnung ermöglichen. Es wurden daher 10 verschiedene Honigproben aus unterschiedlichen Regionen in Österreich und Finnland auf ihren Gehalt an 28 Elementen mittels Induktiv gekoppelte Plasma-Massenspektrometrie (ICP-MS) untersucht. Des weiteren wurde Honig aus einem Versuchsbienenstock der BOKU in Tulln, Österreich, sowie Bodenproben, Pflanzenproben und Pollen aus der näheren Umgebung dieses Bienenstocks analysiert, um das Gebiet zu charakterisieren und Korrelationen vom Boden über die Pflanze bis hin zum Endprodukt Honig zu bestimmen. Hierzu wurden Methoden zur Probenaufbereitung für die unterschiedlichen Probenmatrizes entwickelt und optimiert. Mittels statistischer Datenauswertung des Mineralgehaltes war es möglich, dunklere Blüten- und Waldhonige von helleren Blütenhonigen zu unterscheiden. Eine Unterscheidung der österreichischen von den finnischen Honigproben war dadurch jedoch nicht möglich. Aufgrund des Gehaltes wären folgende Isotopensysteme zur Herkunft einsetzbar: B, Ca, Sr, Cu, Zn. Erste Versuche zur Isotopenbestimmung in Bor als nicht traditionelles Isotopensystem wurden im Rahmen dieser Arbeit durchgeführt. *****The honey bee is a diligent and very interesting insect that has been used by humankind for thousands of years. Bio-monitoring using bees and their products is a smart way to evaluate anthropogenic influences on nature. In the context of food authenticity investigations this is an important issue because consumers want reliable information about the provenance of the products. Honey is a high quality product that should be protected from adulteration or false declaration. In order to fulfil this task, analytical techniques are necessary to obtain reliable and precise results. The work accomplished in the course of this master thesis II was an evaluation of the elemental pattern in soil, plant, pollen and honey to find adequate element or isotopic pattern for proof of provenance. Therefore, the contents of twenty-eight elements in honey samples from Austria and Finland were measured using inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS), in order to use these elemental patterns as markers of origin and to determine possible isotopic systems. Furthermore, honey from a bee hive, which was set up at the BOKU Tulln, Austria, and soil, plant and pollen samples from its surroundings were analysed with the aim to characterise the area and to determine correlations from soil to plant and to the final product honey. Methods for sample preparation for the different sample types were developed and optimised.
