Analysis and Design of Networks-on-Chip Under High Process Variation

Analysis and Design of Networks-on-Chip Under High Process Variation PDF Author: Rabab Ezz-Eldin
Publisher: Springer
ISBN: 3319257668
Category : Technology & Engineering
Languages : en
Pages : 156

Book Description
This book describes in detail the impact of process variations on Network-on-Chip (NoC) performance. The authors evaluate various NoC topologies under high process variation and explain the design of efficient NoCs, with advanced technologies. The discussion includes variation in logic and interconnect, in order to evaluate the delay and throughput variation with different NoC topologies. The authors describe an asynchronous router, as a robust design to mitigate the impact of process variation in NoCs and the performance of different routing algorithms is determined with/without process variation for various traffic patterns. Additionally, a novel Process variation Delay and Congestion aware Routing algorithm (PDCR) is described for asynchronous NoC design, which outperforms different adaptive routing algorithms in the average delay and saturation throughput for various traffic patterns.

Dynamic Reconfigurable Network-on-Chip Design: Innovations for Computational Processing and Communication

Dynamic Reconfigurable Network-on-Chip Design: Innovations for Computational Processing and Communication PDF Author: Shen, Jih-Sheng
Publisher: IGI Global
ISBN: 1615208089
Category : Computers
Languages : en
Pages : 384

Book Description
Reconfigurable computing brings immense flexibility to on-chip processing while network-on-chip has improved flexibility in on-chip communication. Integrating these two areas of research reaps the benefits of both and represents the promising future of multiprocessor systems-on-chip. This book is the one of the first compilations written to demonstrate this future for network-on-chip design. Through dynamic and creative research into questions ranging from integrating reconfigurable computing techniques, to task assigning, scheduling and arrival, to designing an operating system to take advantage of the computing and communication flexibilities brought about by run-time reconfiguration and network-on-chip, it represents a complete source of the techniques and applications for reconfigurable network-on-chip necessary for understanding of future of this field.

Timing Performance of Nanometer Digital Circuits Under Process Variations

Timing Performance of Nanometer Digital Circuits Under Process Variations PDF Author: Victor Champac
Publisher: Springer
ISBN: 3319754653
Category : Technology & Engineering
Languages : en
Pages : 195

Book Description
This book discusses the digital design of integrated circuits under process variations, with a focus on design-time solutions. The authors describe a step-by-step methodology, going from logic gates to logic paths to the circuit level. Topics are presented in comprehensively, without overwhelming use of analytical formulations. Designing Reliable and Efficient Networks on Chips

Designing Reliable and Efficient Networks on Chips PDF Author: Srinivasan Murali
Publisher: Springer Science & Business Media
ISBN: 1402097573
Category : Technology & Engineering
Languages : en
Pages : 200

Book Description
Developing NoC based interconnect tailored to a particular application domain, satisfying the application performance constraints with minimum power-area overhead is a major challenge. With technology scaling, as the geometries of on-chip devices reach the physical limits of operation, another important design challenge for NoCs will be to provide dynamic (run-time) support against permanent and intermittent faults that can occur in the system. The purpose of Designing Reliable and Efficient Networks on Chips is to provide state-of-the-art methods to solve some of the most important and time-intensive problems encountered during NoC design.
