"A preliminary scaled equation of state for the critical region of ethylene based on the linear parametric model has been developed. This model is based upon data within four percent above and 0.5 percent below the critical temperature, and within thirty percent of the critical density. (281 to 293 K at densities from 5.3 to 9.9 mol/l.) Constants for the calculation of density and other properties including enthalpy, internal energy, entropy, isochoric and isobaric heat capacity, and velocity of sound for this restricted range are given. Comparisons of selected property data are included, and a brief table of thermodynamic properties of ethylene near the critical state is given."--Page ii.
