The annotated bibliography of climatic maps for Yugoslavia is compiled from sources found in the Weather Bureau Library (DWB), Library of Congress (DLC), and the Census Library. An effort was made to restrict the maps to within the Yugoslavian border; therefore, maps of the Mediterranean region as a whole and larger areas of Europe were not included (with exception of sources 3 and 22 for the Balkans). Reconstruction of the climate variability of the past 500 years is a topic of great scientific interest not only in global terms, but also at regional and local levels. This period is interesting on account of the increasing influence of anthropogenic forcing and its overlap with natural factors.
