Thofe who have confidered the Theory of Architeelure, tell us the Proportions of the three Grecian Orders were taken from the Human Body, as the molt beautiful and perfect Production of Nature. Hence Were dei'ived thole graceful Ideas of Columns, which 'had a Character of Strength without clumfinels, or of Delicacy without weaknefs. Thole beautilul Proportions were, I lay, taken originally from Na ture, which, in her Creatures, as hath been already obferved, relerreth them to lome end, ufe, or defign.
