Book Description
This study is designed to identify recreation resources and activities (by both visitors to Alaska and Alaska residents) that may be affected by the construction and operation of the proposed Susitna-Watana Hydroelectric Project, and to help assess the potential impacts of Project construction and operation on those resources and activities. The study areas vary by each part of the study, but overall encompass a region far beyond the proposed Project corridors and include the Parks Highway (western boundary); the Denali Highway (northern boundary); the Richardson Highway (eastern boundary); the Glenn Highway from Glennallen west to Chickaloon, then northwards along the Chickaloon River to the Chickallon Glacier, then west to the Y Junction (with Talkeetna Road) on the Parks Highway (southern boundary); and 1/4-mile corridors along those highways. User data will be collected through a variety of methods including online, mail, telephone, and intercept surveys.
