The number of meetings concerning economic problems held in the various counties increased from.56,247 in 1935 to in 1936. The number of economic news articles published and cir cular letters issued practically doubled. Agents and specialists made farm.and home visits in 1936 as compared with in 1935 and received nearly 4%-million office calls relative to economic problems as compared with less than 2 million during the previous year. Increased help was given to farmers in planning adjustments on their individual farms, and in familiarizing farmers with.the general economic outlook and the outlook for the various commodities. Assistance given to individuals on farm business records was somewhat less than in 1935 but equal to the level reached in 1934, which was approximately double that of the previous years.
