Como resultado de la experiencia docente de más de 20 años impartiendo la asignatura de Psicología Social tanto en la Licenciatura en Psicología, como actualmente en el Grado en Psicología de la Universidad Miguel Hernández, se han elaborado dos libros que recogen los contenidos del programa académico de la asignatura. A lo largo de esa trayectoria, y para la elaboración de los materiales han servido de base los principales manuales desarrollados por autores y autoras de referencia en esta área de conocimiento. Este libro, titulado “Actitudes y Conducta, Influencia Social y Comportamiento Colectivo”, está compuesto por siete capítulos. En el primero se introduce la explicación de los procesos actitudinales y su relación con la conducta, para continuar con dos capítulos más en los que se profundiza sobre la Teoría de la Disonancia Cognitiva y sus desarrollos, y el análisis de estereotipos y prejuicios sociales. Los cuatro capítulos siguientes recogen específicamente determinados procesos de influencia social, como es el caso de las mayorías y las características de la influencia ejercida por las minorías, siguiendo con las relaciones de poder y obediencia a la autoridad, y finalmente, abordando el estudio de la conducta colectiva y los movimientos sociales desde las explicaciones clásicas hasta la actualidad.
