Analysis of Three-fluid, Crossflow Heat Exchangers
Author: Noel C. Willis (Jr.)
Publisher:
ISBN:
Category : Heat
Languages : en
Pages : 120
Book Description
The detailed behavior of three-fluid, crossflow heat exchangers has been investigated. The equations governing the two-dimensional temperature distributions of the three fluids have been derived and nondimentionalized. Performance characteristics have been determined for a wide range of operating parameters for single-pass heat exchangers. The performance of two-pass heat exchangers for both cocurrent and countercurrent flow has been studied for selected operating conditions. Results have been presented graphically in terms of the temperature effectiveness of the two outer fluids as functions of heat-exchanger size for sets of fixed operating conditions. Nondimensional operating parameters have been defined which allow an efficient presentation of the large volume of performance data required to represent a practical range of operating conditions. Sample problems are included to illustrate the use of the performance graphs for design applications.

Heat Exchangers
Author: Jovan Mitrovic
Publisher: BoD – Books on Demand
ISBN: 9535102788
Category : Technology & Engineering
Languages : en
Pages : 602
Book Description
Selecting and bringing together matter provided by specialists, this project offers comprehensive information on particular cases of heat exchangers. The selection was guided by actual and future demands of applied research and industry, mainly focusing on the efficient use and conversion energy in changing environment. Beside the questions of thermodynamic basics, the book addresses several important issues, such as conceptions, design, operations, fouling and cleaning of heat exchangers. It includes also storage of thermal energy and geothermal energy use, directly or by application of heat pumps. The contributions are thematically grouped in sections and the content of each section is introduced by summarising the main objectives of the encompassed chapters. The book is not necessarily intended to be an elementary source of the knowledge in the area it covers, but rather a mentor while pursuing detailed solutions of specific technical problems which face engineers and technicians engaged in research and development in the fields of heat transfer and heat exchangers.
