A Preliminary Investigation of the Turbulent Mixing of Two Gas Streams at Different Temperatures
On Turbulent Free Mixing of Parallel Streams of Two Different Gases
Author: Shigeo Uchida
Publisher:
ISBN:
Category : Differential equations
Languages : en
Pages : 1
Book Description
A theoretical investigation of the turbulent mixing of two different nonreacting gases is presented. Four different equations for predicting the mixing are derived by considering combinations of two different formulations of the turbulent transport currents of mass, momentum and energy, and two different formulations of the eddy kinematic viscosity coefficient in compressible flow. All equations can be solved numerically to yield similar type solutions. The results of a numerical calculation comparing the solutions given by the four equations is presented. (Author).

Numerical Calculation of the Turbulent Mixing of Two Uniform Gas Flows
Author: P. P. Koryavov
Publisher:
ISBN:
Category :
Languages : en
Pages : 29
Book Description
On the basis of the approximate boundary-layer theory an investigation is made of the problem of turbulent mixing of two uniform flows of a compressible fluid for Prandtl numbers different from one with particular attention to the temperatures and velocities of the mixing flows. The equations of turbulent mixing are reduced to the equations of laminar mixing using some new independent variables. It is shown that introduction of these new variables permits separation of the boundary-value problem for flow in the mixing zone, which involves certain mathematical difficulties, from that of calculating temperature and velocity profiles for actual cross sections, which is not difficult mathematically but requires the use of empirical quantities. (Author).

Pages : 1008
Book Description
NSA is a comprehensive collection of international nuclear science and technology literature for the period 1948 through 1976, pre-dating the prestigious INIS database, which began in 1970. NSA existed as a printed product (Volumes 1-33) initially, created by DOE's predecessor, the U.S. Atomic Energy Commission (AEC). NSA includes citations to scientific and technical reports from the AEC, the U.S. Energy Research and Development Administration and its contractors, plus other agencies and international organizations, universities, and industrial and research organizations. References to books, conference proceedings, papers, patents, dissertations, engineering drawings, and journal articles from worldwide sources are also included. Abstracts and full text are provided if available.
