Advancing the Watch

Advancing the Watch PDF Author: Kirk Wesselink
Publisher: Tate Publishing
ISBN: 1615662774
Category : Religion
Languages : en
Pages : 352

Book Description
Daniel 12:9-10 instructs us that the wise of only one generation will be able to fully understand end-times prophecies. That final generation must come to this understanding in order to be properly prepared and motivated for what they will need to endure. It is imperative that our eschatology be both biblical and contemporary, For as we draw nearer and nearer To The end-times, greater clarity in understanding apocalyptic prophecies should come. In Advancing the Watch, Pastor Kirk Wesselink presents a groundbreaking look at prophecy rooted in a thoroughly consistent, conservative exposition of relative Bible passages. He maintains the dispensational, pre-tribulational, and pre-millennial foundation, but honestly challenges their traditional view of many prophetic texts. The reader is carefully instructed in how to avoid prophetic pitfalls through a straightforward primer on interpretive rules for prophecy and key foundational principles. The work builds on research stretching back over one hundred years but is willing to engage in 'constructive demolition' to advance the Church's prophecy watch. A new generation will be challenged, trained, and encouraged with a powerful, up-to-the-minute look at the fullness of God's prophetic Word by Advancing the Watch. Kirk Wesselink has been a pastor for twenty-four years and has established two new churches in New Mexico. He is a graduate of Cedarville University and Grand Rapids Baptist Seminary. He has preached across much of the country as well as internationally in conferences, camps, and ministry seminars.

The Messiah Revealed in Prophecy

The Messiah Revealed in Prophecy PDF Author: Cushroo Bejon
Publisher: Wipf and Stock Publishers
ISBN: 1532680945
Category : Religion
Languages : en
Pages : 59

Book Description
for the Lord Almighty has purposed, and who can thwart him? His hand is stretched out, and who can turn it back? (Isa 14:26-27 NIV) Biblical prophecy is not simply insight into future events. It is more than that, for it reveals Gods plan and purpose, and imparts an understanding of His purpose to humanity. In this book, Cushroo Bejon explores the significance of the prophetic scriptures in relation to the birth, life, crucifixion, resurrection and exaltation of Jesus. His findings are conclusive: it cannot be mere coincidence that these ancient scriptural prediction find their fulfillment in the life of Jesus, rather, they provide clear evidence that the Bible is the Word of God, and that Jesus is the messiah, God’s Son.

Prophecy in the New Millennium

Prophecy in the New Millennium PDF Author: Suzanne Newcombe
Publisher: Routledge
ISBN: 1317074580
Category : Religion
Languages : en
Pages : 319

Book Description
Secular and spiritual prophets of doom abound in the information-rich twenty-first century - as they have for millennia. But there has yet to be worldwide floods, meteor impact, global computer failure, obvious alien contact, or direct intervention from God to end the world as we know it. Considering the frequency with which prophecy apparently fails, why do prophecies continue to be made, and what social functions do they serve? This volume gives a concise, but comprehensive, overview of the rich diversity of prophecy, its role in major world religions as well as in new religions and alternative spiritualties, its social dynamics and its impact on individuals’ lives. Academic analyses are complimented with contextualized primary source testimonies of those who live and have lived within a prophetic framework. The book argues that the key to understanding the more dramatic, apocalyptic and millenarian aspects of prophecy is in appreciating prophecy’s more mundane manifestations and its role in providing meaning and motivation in everyday life.

The ability to tell the future has always fascinated man since prehistoric times. Prophets have spawned numerous religions and methods of divination to tell the future. Prophets are not only able to predict some major events seems but may be able to control them. Prophets from the Bible were considered major persons of importance in those times and their predictions were major influences on the decisions of leaders. In my own life I’ve had numerous experiences with premonitions involving the future. They have varied from strong visions, to dreams, to vague feelings, to strong fear. Even though I’ve studied many other types of paranormal experiences and had many, these experiences about future events seem to be my strongest natural precognitive ability. These events also formed major influences on my life, and their study and analysis has therefore been a big passion of mine. The Prophets and Our Times

The Prophets and Our Times PDF Author: R. Gerald Culleton
Publisher: CreateSpace
ISBN: 9781492363545
Category : Religion
Languages : en
Pages : 252

Book Description
Originally written in the early 1940's this book is even more appropriate for those studying prophecy today. Any serious student of Catholic Prophecy should possess several books and this one is near the top of the list. They should also have 'The Apocalypse of Saint John' by E Sylvester Berry and 'The Book of Destiny' by Herman Bernard Kramer. Culleton's other work, 'The Reign of Antichrist' is also very useful in carrying study forward. In the 19th century James Ratton wrote two books, 'Essays on the Apocalypse' and 'The Apocalypse of Saint John'. His works should also be consulted by the serious student of Catholic prophecy. Father Culleton begins with an overview of the prophecies and his prophetic time line. He then proceeds to the prophecies in chronological order with very few comments, which are easily recognizable. Culleton has gathered together a sizable number of prophecies. His conclusions may be out of date, but the prophecies themselves are more important today than they were in the middle of the last century when Culleton compiled them. He discusses the Great Monarch and the Angelic Pastor. He also touches on Antichrist. In fact he subtitles this book 'Signs that Precede the Antichrist'. Culleton reports the following prayer from a priest in Rome in 1936: “O Jesus, Divine Saviour! Be merciful, be merciful to us and to the whole world. Amen. Powerful God! Holy God! Immortal God! Have compassion upon us and upon the whole world. Amen. Eternal Father, show us mercy, in the name of the Precious Blood of Thy Only Son, show us mercy we implore Thee. Amen.” Although he does not mention Sister Faustina one can easily see the tie in with the devotion to the Divine Mercy she was led by Almighty God to promote. Culleton reports a Franciscan Father in Arizona as stating: “"Don Bosco's prophecy 'The Pope will die and live again' refers to the peculiar circumstances surrounding Pius XI and Pius XII: when the former died, 'Fides Intrepida' died, but when Pius Xll, his Secretary of State, was elected, 'Fides Intrepida' lived again." Pius XII according to this would not be the Pastor Angelicus, at least not the one who would rule with the Great Monarch."” With the speculation about Saint Malachy's prophecies of the popes this students of Catholic Prophecy may wish to investigate this and two other prophets, Saint John Capistrano and the Monk of Padua, that Culleton quotes as describing the last Popes in history.
