Cavafy's Historical Poems is the first volume of a four-book set constituting a study of the life and opus of this fascinating poet. For almost a millennium, a modest wooden ship lay underwater off the coast of Serçe Limani, Turkey, filled with evidence of trade and objects of daily life.
