Kingdom is one of the largest plantations in the southern states and Camberley has become one of the most important estates in the whole area. Hector and Anne were married in 1823. The coloured employee servants of the estate referred to her as Lady Anna. The union between the two of them produced four sons, Charles, Joseph, Jim and John. It was very difficult, as he had to overcome the bitterness as a result of the wars of American Independence from 1775 to 1783 and then deal with the Civil War of 1861. Even when the Union Army and the Confederate Army were each side of Kingdom, he would not be drawn into the war. Long before this period in time, Hector and Ann had many very difficult and unpleasant problems to overcome which will unfold in this volume of Kingdom and Foundation.
