For more than a century they had been prominently identified with the life and interests of that village which they helped to found years after their settlement in America. By death and removal the name has become extinct in that community, and hence forth may be known in the village annals only by the let ters cut in marble or granite in the little cemetery which crowns the hilltop nearby, where a few ancient pine trees stand, sentinel-like, guarding the last resting places of the dead.
