Book Description
A floristic inventory of wetlands found on Bureau of Land Management parcels in Wyoming was conducted during the summers of 2005 and 2006. A total of 1,040 vascular plant taxa based on 7,307 collections was documented. Annotated checklists for taxa obtained from wetlands as well as uplands are provided. Included in each are data regarding locality, habitat, and elevation for each taxon. The study area is described with respect to climate and habitats. Species of conservation concern as well as invasive taxa are discussed; special adaptations of hydrophytes are reviewed.

Author: Donald H. Les
Publisher: CRC Press
ISBN: 1351679686
Category : Nature
Languages : en
Pages : 666
Book Description
This book brings together information on the natural history, ecology and systematics of North American aquatic monocotyledons. The book is an overview of the biology of major aquatic species by compiling information from numerous sources that lie scattered among the primary literature, herbarium databases, and other reference sources. Information on more than 300 species in 87 genera of monocotyledons will be included. Recent phylogenetic analyses will be incorporated. Although focusing specifically on North America, the cosmopolitan distribution of many aquatic plants should make this an attractive text to people working virtually anywhere outside of the region as well. Key Selling Features: The primary source of natural history information on aquatic plants Comprehensive lists of ecological associates Synthetic overview of systematic relationships of aquatic species and genera Practical information for rare and invasive plant managers Essential guide to facilitate wetland delineation

A Floristic Inventory of Vascular Plants of the Medicine Bow Mountains, Southeastern Wyoming
Author: Laura E. Lukas
Publisher:
ISBN: 9781267424181
Category : Plants
Languages : en
Pages : 56
Book Description
This inventory expands the floristic coverage of the Medicine Bow Mountains, located in southeastern Wyoming. This range, covering 830 square miles, was surveyed for all species of vascular plant. Most of the lands inventoried belong to the Medicine Bow-Routt National Forest but small portions are under the jurisdiction of the Bureau of Land Management or owned by the State of Wyoming. Over three summers, 9,837 numbered specimens were collected at 168 sites, representing 858 taxa and one hybrid. An additional 197 taxa are included in the checklist. They were not found during this study but documented by previous collectors (Rocky Mountain Herbarium Plant Specimen Database). Thus the total of unique taxa for the Medicine Bows is 1052. Alchemilla filicaulis ssp. filicaulis and Carex arcta are species new to Wyoming. Also documented were eight noxious weeds and 25 species of conservation concern. The latter were found at 62 locations.
