A Class of Double Sampling Log Type Estimators for Population Variance Using Two Auxiliary Variable PDF Author: Shashi Bhushan
Publisher: Infinite Study
ISBN:

Pages : 5

Book Description
In this paper, a class of log-type estimator using two auxiliary information is proposed. Double sampling technique has been considered as it is assumed that the auxiliary information about the auxiliary variable is unknown. Bias and mean squared error has been found up to the first order of approximation. The proposed classes are compared to some commonly used estimators both theoretically as well as empirically and they perform better than commonly known estimators available in the literature.

Some Improved Estimators for Population Variance Using Two Auxiliary Variables in Double Sampling

Some Improved Estimators for Population Variance Using Two Auxiliary Variables in Double Sampling PDF Author: Viplav Kumar Singh

Languages : en
Pages : 12

Book Description
In this article we have proposed an efficient generalised class of estimator using two auxiliary variables for estimating unknown population variance 2 yS of study variable y .We have also extended our problem to the case of two phase sampling. In support of theoretical results we have included an empirical study.

A General Class of Estimators of Population Median Using Two Auxiliary Variables in Double Sampling

A General Class of Estimators of Population Median Using Two Auxiliary Variables in Double Sampling PDF Author: Jack Allen
Publisher: Infinite Study
ISBN:
Category :
Languages : en
Pages : 21

Book Description
In this paper we have suggested two classes of estimators for population median MY of the study character Y using information on two auxiliary characters X and Z in double sampling. It has been shown that the suggested classes of estimators are more efficient than the one suggested by Singh et al (2001). Estimators based on estimated optimum values have been also considered with their properties. The optimum values of the first phase and second phase sample sizes are also obtained for the fixed cost of survey.

Book Description
In this paper, a class of log-type estimator using the auxiliary information in form of attribute as well as variable is proposed. Double sampling technique has been considered as it is assumed that the auxiliary information about the auxiliary attribute as well as auxiliary variable is unknown. Bias and mean squared error has been found up to the first order of approximation. The proposed classes are compared to some commonly used estimators both theoretically as well as empirically and they perform better than commonly used estimators available in the literature.

Improved Exponential Estimator for Population Variance Using Two Auxiliary Variables

Improved Exponential Estimator for Population Variance Using Two Auxiliary Variables PDF Author: Rajesh Singh

Book Description
In this paper exponential ratio and exponential product type estimators using two auxiliary variables are proposed for estimating unknown population variance 2 yS . Problem is extended to the case of two-phase sampling. Theoretical results are supported by an empirical study.

Use of Auxiliary Information for Estimating Population Mean in Systematic Sampling under Non- Response

Use of Auxiliary Information for Estimating Population Mean in Systematic Sampling under Non- Response PDF Author: Manoj K. Chaudhary
Publisher: Infinite Study
ISBN:
Category :
Languages : en
Pages : 13

Book Description
In this paper we have adapted Singh and Shukla (1987) estimator in systematic sampling using auxiliary information in the presence of non-response. The properties of the suggested family have been discussed. Expressions for the bias and mean square error (MSE) of the suggested family have been derived. The comparative study of the optimum estimator of the family with ratio, product, dual to ratio and sample mean estimators in systematic sampling under non-response has also been done. One numerical illustration is carried out to verify the theoretical results.

Two Phase Sampling

Two Phase Sampling PDF Author: Zahoor Ahmad
Publisher: Cambridge Scholars Publishing
ISBN: 1443867985
Category : Mathematics
Languages : en
Pages : 235

Book Description
The development of estimators of population parameters based on two-phase sampling schemes has seen a dramatic increase in the past decade. Various authors have developed estimators of population using either one or two auxiliary variables. The present volume is a comprehensive collection of estimators available in single and two phase sampling. The book covers estimators which utilize information on single, two and multiple auxiliary variables of both quantitative and qualitative nature. The estimators discussed in the text are based upon different mechanisms of the availability of auxiliary information, termed here as Full, Partial and No Information. Multivariate estimators in survey sampling are also discussed in the book. Two Phase Sampling will prove an invaluable point of reference for researchers working in the field of survey sampling in general and in the field of two-phase sampling in particular.

Improvement in Estimating Population Mean using Two Auxiliary Variables in Two-Phase Sampling

Improvement in Estimating Population Mean using Two Auxiliary Variables in Two-Phase Sampling PDF Author: Rajesh Singh
Publisher: Infinite Study
ISBN:
Category :
Languages : en
Pages : 11

Book Description
This study proposes improved chain-ratio type estimator for estimating population mean using some known values of population parameter(s) of the second auxiliary character. The proposed estimators have been compared with two-phase ratio estimator and some other chain ratio type estimators. The performances of the proposed estimators have been supported with a numerical illustration.
