Discriminatory Pricing of Over-the-Counter Derivatives

Discriminatory Pricing of Over-the-Counter Derivatives PDF Author: Harald Hau
Publisher: International Monetary Fund
ISBN: 149831435X
Category : Business & Economics
Languages : en
Pages : 45

Book Description
New regulatory data reveal extensive price discrimination against non-financial clients in the FX derivatives market. The client at the 90th percentile pays an effective spread of 0.5%, while the bottom quarter incur transaction costs of less than 0.02%. Consistent with models of search frictions in over-the-counter markets, dealers charge higher spreads to less sophisticated clients. However, price discrimination is eliminated when clients trade through multi-dealer request-for-quote platforms. We also document that dealers extract rents from captive clients and market opacity, but only for contracts negotiated bilaterally with unsophisticated clients.

The Wind of Change

The Wind of Change PDF Author: Chris Bray
Publisher: Lulu.com
ISBN: 1291528423
Category : Games & Activities
Languages : en
Pages : 194

Book Description
Chris Bray is the backgammon columnist for The Independent and has been playing and studying the game for over thirty years. In this anthology of his most recent Independent articles he traces the further development of many aspects of the game. The game continues to evolve and the last twenty years have seen a period of rapid development in the game. This is largely because of the advent of backgammon computer programs JellyFish, Snowie and, most recently, eXtreme Gammon. Consequently the modern expert player is light years ahead of his 1990s counterpart. The material in this book covers not only the development of backgammon theory but also looks at the history of the game including some of its more famous and colourful players. The timeless characters that make up Chris's menagerie continue to paint a vibrant picture of life in the high stakes chouette. Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson are also on hand to lend instruction and for this book Jeeves and Wooster have joined the party as well.

Forex Trading

Forex Trading PDF Author: Heikin Ashi Trader
Publisher: Dao Press
ISBN: 9925766222
Category : Business & Economics
Languages : en
Pages : 114

Book Description
Forex Trading The Complete Series! As is well known, currency markets are determined by news. However, since news is rare, most currency pairs move sideways 80% of the time. In other words: it is very difficult to trade currencies profitably with trend strategies. The "Forex Trading" series therefore deals with strategies that are specifically designed for sideways markets. Heikin Ashi Trader also discusses why traders who specialize in forex trading tend to trade only one strategy at a time. They do this because they believe it is superior to other trading methods. Unfortunately, this approach makes them vulnerable to the ups and downs of this single strategy. However, by distributing profit and loss over several strategies, the trader creates an indifference towards the series of losses of each single strategy. If he looks at it as an investment security in his portfolio, just like a stock or a fund, he gets a more objective view on what is going on in the markets. Part 1: Two round number strategies Introduction Strategy 1: The round number strategy Strategy 2: The Stop Hunting Strategy Consider forex trading like a probability game Part 2: Two strategies with weekly pivots How to trade the weekly Pivots Strategy 1: Trade the Pivot Strategy 2: The “last 20 Pips” Strategy Should I change the parameters if trading is not going well? Part 3: Trading with the Weekly High and Low Introduction to trading with the weekly high and low Strategy 1: Chase the Weekly High and Low Strategy 2: Weekly High and Low Stretch Practical questions Part 4: Trade several strategies simultaneously 1. Why you should trade several strategies at once! 2. Less volatility in the capital curve 3. How many strategies should you trade simultaneously? 4. Is it possible to diversify, even with small accounts? 5. When should you start using leverage? 6. Forex trading is a business

Global Business Ethics

Global Business Ethics PDF Author: Abraham Stefanidis
Publisher: Taylor & Francis
ISBN: 1040176143
Category : Business & Economics
Languages : en
Pages : 125

Book Description
Drawing on contributions from nineteen prominent scholars, the book reflects on the quest for sustainable development as a source of competitive advantage for organizations and as a global imperative for society. It highlights how organizations’ decision-making processes and bundled capabilities can promote innovative approaches to address current ethical dilemmas, setting forth business ethics, corporate social responsibility, and sustainability as required tenets for participating in a global economy. As societal and business stakeholders race toward the 2030 deadline to meet the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals, business plays a critical role in achieving global goals. It is thus increasingly crucial that organizational practices and policies incorporate a socially responsible agenda based on ethical decision-making to achieve a more just society. Incorporating people, technology, the natural environment, and economics in a way that is inclusive, honest, just, and sustainable becomes a management imperative challenge. Given the rapid pace of changes taking place in the global economy, the time for action is now, if we are to preserve our planet and ensure progress and prosperity. This book will appeal to scholars in business ethics, management, international business, and sustainability, as well as to business executives. The chapters in this book were originally published in International Studies of Management & Organization.
