The first International Symposium on Library and Information Science Education in the Digital Age, held in November 2000 at Wuhan University (Wuhan, China), drew more than 90 library and information science professionals from China, Macao, and the United States. Participants gathered to discuss a question of common concern: How are our respective library school preparing students for careers in library and information science and management? This report contains papers presented at the symposium's plenary sessions.
