For those members that have opening statements, they may be submitted for the record or, if you choose, at the end of the day when the witnesses are all through you may then make an opening statement, I guess, as you lawyers say, nunc pro tune, but we do have to conserve time. Today the committee holds a hearing on h.r. 497, the National Gambling Impact and Policy Commission Act. Congressman Frank Wolf, one of our witnesses, introduced this legislation which would create a National Commission to Study Gambling with an eye to wards developing a national policy.
